Whether you will be affected will depend on the duration of your course, when you start and your mode of study. The earliest moves affecting new students will be in September 2017. This may mean you begin your course at one location, but over the duration of the course you are relocated to one of our other campuses. Our intention is that no full-time student will change campus more than once during a course of typical duration.

All students will benefit from our move to one campus, which will allow us to develop state-of-the-art facilities, flexible teaching areas and stunning social spaces.

Additional costs

Please note, in addition to the tuition fee there may be additional costs for things like equipment, materials, printing, textbooks, trips or professional body fees.

Additionally, there may be other activities that are not formally part of your course and not required to complete your course, but which you may find helpful (for example, optional field trips). The costs of these are additional to your tuition fee and the fees set out above and will be notified when the activity is being arranged.

    4. In case you experience technical problems, please contact Online Support directly and explain the problem. Please review the policies page as it contains essential information regarding guidelines relevant to all courses at FIU and additional information on the standards for acceptable netiquette important for online courses.

    Technical Requirements & Skills

One of the greatest barriers to taking an online course is a lack of basic computer literacy. By computer literacy we mean being able to manage and organize computer files efficiently, and learning to use your computer’s operating system and software quickly and easily. Keep in mind that this is not a computer literacy course; but students enrolled in online courses are expected to have moderate proficiency using a computer. Please go to the “What’s Required ” page to find out more information on this subject.

    (20% of total grade)

    Chapters 13, 14, 15, 16

Exams are not cumulative. You need to do the exams by yourself. Any interaction with other individuals not only constitutes cheating (please see policy at the beginning of the syllabus), but will also cause the time to expire, and the outcome will not be pleasant. The only way to successfully complete the exams on a timely basis is to know the material. You can make an appointment with me to discuss any problem that you might have before the exam, and I will be very glad to answer your questions and help you as much as I can. If you want to see your exam results, you MUST go to the professor’s office hours. No exam results will be available online. Any email concerning this matter will be ignored.

In order to mitigate any issues with your computer and online assessments, it is very important that you take the “Practice Quiz” from each computer you will be using to take your graded quizzes and exams. It is your responsibility to make sure your computer meets the minimum hardware requirements .

    Make-Up Exam Policy

    1. If you miss an exam due to Blackboard issues (validated by FIU Online Support) or health complications (with proper documentation), you will be allowed to retake your online exam.
    2. In any other case, you may be allowed to retake it at the discretion of the professor, on campus .
    3. If you are unable to come on campus to take the proctored make-up exams, please click here for the additional options available to you.
    4. You may only make-up one exam.

All make-up exams will be held December 2, 2012.

    Photography Tours

    What is a Photo Tour?

Loved by non-photographers too, we seek out the world’s most extraordinary wildlife, landscape and cultural experiences then tour small groups there in comfort, providing unique access away from the crowds with exclusive charter of ships, aircraft, vehicles and remote lodges for not only the most incredible, unhurried photography opportunities on Earth, but also an unforgettable holiday. I love to travel, but I hate being stuck with loads of other people (especially when we’ve got nothing in common), being taken to the regular, over-crowded tourist attractions or wasting time in an amazing country just relaxing by some pool. I want to get the most out of my holidays – I want to see as many different animals as I can, I want to travel through different landscapes and be shown hidden gems off the beaten path, I want to experience the culture, taste the food, meet new friends with similar interests, enjoy some luxury and importantly, I want to have the time to take some beautiful and unique photos of it all. This is what we strive for with our photography tours and workshops.

It’s not enough for me to spot a distant lion, tick it off and move on – I wan’t to have the option to try and get closer, on the correct side for best lighting and even wait for him to lift his head and stare directly down the barrel of my camera lens for a great photo – or to move on when I’m done – I want flexibility. I want the inside tips for the best photo location to be ready when the sun rises over the horizon and spills across the bay onto those boulders – and if I can’t quite get my photo to work, it’d be awesome to have a friendly pro-photographer right there to offer advice (not one who’ll stand in front of me to get the best shot themselves!). If there’s a seal colony out on an island nearby, then I’d want to charter a boat tour out there just with my friends onboard so we can spend as much or as little time as we want to get the photos without being crowded on a regular sight-seeing tour. If the seal colony was a bit of a tourist attraction on a local beach then I’d want to wait for the crowds to leave, and go down onto the beach after hours – just us as a small group, and a private ranger guide to photograph them at our leisure in beautiful evening lighting.

You don’t even need to be a photographer to love this style of holiday – who wouldn’t like a bit of luxury and a bit of extra patience from their tour leaders, or to be given the opportunity to fly over lakes covered in pink flamingos in Africa in a doors-off plane or over a beautiful coastline in a doors-off helicopter for some epic views? Stay on a private island, learn some new skills with your photography, make some new friends and have an unforgettable, unique holiday – all at the same time! Sound good? Well, there’s a reason more than half of our guests come back again, and again on our photo tours!

    Photo Tour Destinations

Each year we run photography tours from as far down as Antarctica and South Georgia, up through various parts of Africa, South America and Australia to as high as Alaska and even Iceland and Greenland in the Arctic – and we’re adding new photo tours all the time. Take a look at our ‘Photography Tour ‘ page to see our list of tour destinations!

    Who is Chris Bray ?

Chris grew up sailing around the world then leading world-first expeditions across the arctic before becoming an award-winning Australian Geographic photographer, Lowepro ambassador and Canon’s Australian ambassador for five years. Chris’s work has appeared in National Geographic and Discovery Channel along with Australian Geographic, TIME Magazine etc. He’s also an accomplished writer, with feature articles published around the world and even a successful book ‘The 1000 Hour Day ‘ (now an award-winning documentary ‘The Crossing’), sits on the advisory committee for The Australian Geographic Society and is founder and CEO of Conservation United. crowd-funding the world’s critical conservation projects. Chris is also an International Fellow of ‘The Explorers Club ‘ and has been chairman of their Australia and New Zealand chapter.

Chris and his wife Jess are also keen high-latitude sailors, recently becoming the first people to sail a junk-rig boat through the Northwest Passage over the arctic, on their little 29-foot wooden sailboat ‘Teleport ‘. Australian Geographic Society’s ‘Young Adventurer of the Year’ in 2004 for a Tasmanian wilderness hike, Chris has also been awarded their ‘Spirit of Adventure’ medal in 2009.

Chris still leads many of our tours and his passion for wildlife, photography and wild places continues to drive our growth.

    1. Determine and interpret statistics related to the location, variability, and shape of qualitative and quantitative data sets.
    2. Apply basic concepts of probability to determine the role that probability distributions play in statistical inference.
    3. Find and interpret confidence intervals for means, variances, and proportions.
    4. State the assumptions required for and perform basic parametric hypothesis tests about means, variances, and proportions, and find and interpret resulting p-values.
    5. Perform basic nonparametric hypothesis tests about means.
    6. Perform linear regression and make inferences based on the results.

Apply knowledge of statistics and research design to critically evaluate research findings as well as to make more informed decisions in everyday life.

    Description

STAT 263/3.0 is a twelve week onQ-based (i.e.,online) course which presents the basic concepts and methodology of statistics with the necessary probability included. Topics include probability models, random variables, distributions, estimation, hypothesis testing, elementary nonparametric methods. STAT 263/3.0 is a twelve week onQ-based (i.e.,online) course which presents the basic concepts and methodology of statistics.

A pre-test for the course is available. This test does not count toward the course but will be useful to students who wish to confirm that they have the algebra and computational skills necessary for the successful completion of the course.

    Terms

    * Whichever gives you the higher mark.

    Weekly Quizzes

There will be 11 more-or-less weekly quizzes available via onQ– there is no quiz the first week and the quiz for the week of the term test is deferred into the next week. Only the highest 9 quiz marks will be used in the calculation of the quiz portion of the final grade. The questions on the quizzes will be similar to questions worked through in the lectures and presented in the non-assignments.

    Midterm Exam

The term test, which covers material to the end of chapter 9, will take place during the sixth week of term. Students will take their term test online, like the quizzes. Midterm exam marks will be posted within 5 days after the midterm closes.

    Final Exam

The final exam will be a three-hour formally supervised exam and will cover all the course material, with an emphasis on material from the second half of the course. This is so because much of the material covered in the first half of the course is fundamental to the material covered in the second half. Details about the final exam will be posted as they become available.

Students must write their exam on the day and time scheduled by the University. The start time may vary slightly depending on the off-campus exam centre. Do not schedule vacations, appointments, etc. during the exam period.

Homeland Security Defense Coalition and the Homeland Security University College project #homeland

    #

Welcome to the Homeland Security Defense Coalition and our Homeland Security University College project

The Homeland Security Defense Coalition and the Homeland Security University College project was established in October of 2001 to provide a single source for high level education and training in the field of counter-terrorism. The HSDC HSU project programs will lead to a certificate, diploma, or degree in one comprehensive program.

The Homeland Security Defense Coalition and the Homeland Security University College project has been a labor of love post 9/11/01. The Homeland Security Defense Coalition is a non-profit organization managed by 40 volunteers who have sought non-governmental funding through no less than two dozen foundations, none of which have been able to provide project funding. Our volunteers have provided nine years of their time in hopes of eventually joining us on a full-time career basis. This great team has provided their professional expertise in counterterrorism and business administration to build our infrastructure so that we are ready at the starting gates to begin this worthwhile Homeland Security University College project.

We have recruited and brought together national and international experts in anti-terrorism and counter-terrorism, who have developed, designed and will be teaching our seminars and courses. Most are recently retired former or present FBI agents, federal law enforcement agents, criminal investigators, emergency and disaster planning professionals, lawyers, US Border Patrol personnel, US Customs professionals and several currently in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Consolidating the best national security training and education courses and offering them through one source will enable private and government agencies the opportunity to send their personnel for homeland specialized homeland security training and education.

This project has been 14 years in the planning and is designed to ensure the highest level of modern up-to-date course content. Courses have and will be continually reviewed and up-dated to remain current in content and consistent with current trends and threats.

Unlike similar programs that are appearing across the country, our seminar, certificate, diploma and degree courses and training programs are designed specifically to address the needs of those employed or seeking employment in a homeland security related profession, public safety or public administration with a concentration in homeland security.

    The Homeland Security Defense Coalition is proud to announce our professional development and continuing education courses will be offered online over the next six to eight weeks. Courses will include;

    Introduction to Homeland Security

    Introduction to Terrorism

    The Psychology of Terrorism

Public Utility Security Against Terrorism (Gas, Electric, Water, Telephone, Cellular Phones, Sewer)

    Border Security and Terrorism

It was known for years as the CALC Online Campus and adopted the name of CALCampus. CALCampus was the first to develop and implement the concept of a totally online-based school through which administration, real-time classroom instruction, and materials were provided online.

CALCampus provides individual courses for job skills enhancement, career change, continuing education, adult basic education, personal and professional development, undergraduate college credit, and high school prerequisites for adult learners. Courses are offered in the academic areas of mathematics, science, social science, humanities, business, law, and English. English (ESL) courses are offered for non-native speakers.

CALCampus issues a hardcopy official transcript of course completion with grade earned for each individual course successfully completed. For programs, we issue a certificate of program completion with transcript of courses completed for the program. Refer to the Academics page for information about courses and for prices of currently available courses. To register, see Admissions.

    Online Campus

CALCampus services (libraries, administrative communications, conference rooms, Web site, Web applications, etc.) are provided through our dedicated Course Management System, which is accessible to registered students via the Internet at http://cms.calcampus.edu/

Through our Online Campus, students and teachers utilize our online classrooms and libraries. Teachers are available through the Course Management System and e-mail, and they hold weekly office hours online for realtime chat. We provide an online Bookstore for course textbooks.

    Accreditation & State Approval

We have two divisions: Postsecondary (non-degree) and High School. CALCampus serves adult learners with courses that are primarily postsecondary for college credit. We also offer high school credit courses for adult learners.

    • Postsecondary Division: Licensed and approved by the State of New Hampshire Higher Education Commission, Career School Licensing RSA 188-G:1-10, as a private non-degree granting distance learning postsecondary career school. The Commission’s mission is to provide access to higher education and to ensure educational quality.
  • Postsecondary Division: Regionally accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), which is a division of AdvancED. Click here to see a copy of our NCA CASI Accreditation Certificate. CALCampus school number: 105354.

Click here for our listing in the AdvancED database of accredited institutions.

By our choice, we do not offer financial aid nor participate in federal student loan programs and do not offer degrees. This means, of course, that we will not be on lists of degree-granting colleges nor on lists of colleges that participate in federal loan programs.

  • The High School Division is also accredited the National Association of Private Schools (NAPS). NAPS accredits our High School Division. NAPS is a consortium of Christian Educators and Private School Administrators from across the United States and Canada. The Association is dedicated to recognizing and improving the Spiritual and Educational quality of Private and Christian Schools.
  • Mission, Purpose, and Philosophy

    History and Vision

CALCampus began as the Computer Assisted Learning Center (CALC), which was founded in 1982 in Rindge, New Hampshire, as a small, offline computer-based, adult learning center. The center was based on the vision of providing affordable, quality instruction to individual learners through the use of computers. In those early years, CALC also compiled and distributed public domain educational software and published articles dealing with the use of computers in education.

CALC’s vision broadened over the years as the online world opened and we were able to serve students from diverse geographic locations through the use of computers and the Internet. In early 1986, CALC became a totally online school through its Tutoring Center on the QuatumLink network, and followed with structured courses in 1986. From 1986 through 1995, CALC Online Campus, as it was known, opened its online school on several major telecommunications networks, including PC-Link, AppleLink, AOL, Delphi, GEnie, and CompuServe. In early 1995, CALC Online Campus made its online school available through the Internet as CALCampus.com and after receiving regional accreditation, the domain changed to calcampus.edu. Since 1986, CALCampus has been in continual operation as an online school and we have been pleased to see the increasing adoption of online education by the mainstream educational community over the decades.

    Our Faculty and Administration

The CALCampus Faculty are veterans in online distance teaching and are practicing educators and professionals in their fields. Some have been teaching with us online since the 1980s. Most instructors have a Master’s degree in their subject areas; some have Doctorates. Teachers in our high school diploma program core curriculum are certified. CALCampus is administered by a Director who has extensive experience and academic credentials in the field of online distance learning and educational administration. The Director and Faculty regularly consult on curriculum matters, make improvements to existing courses and programs, and develop new courses and programs to fulfill the needs of our students. CALCampus has a School Committee, comprised of the Director, a senior Faculty member, and a school Attorney, which communicates on matters of importance to the school’s curriculum, operation, financial matters, and student body needs. We all have one shared goal: to provide quality instruction to our students.

Studying Library Science: Degrees at a Glance

If you have passion for performing research, as well as organizing and processing information, an undergraduate degree in library sciences would qualify you to be a library assistant. Undergraduate programs in this field usually require students to double major in library science and another area of their choice. The skills that you learn in your undergraduate years will be creating the building blocks for master’s degree programs and careers as librarians.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), library assistants (who generally have completed an associate’s degree) were projected to see an average jump of ten percent growth in job openings from 2010-2020, while library technicians were expected to see nine percent growth during that same period. By contrast, BLS reports show that librarians (who are generally required to have earned a master’s degree) were anticipated to experience a slower-than-average job growth of seven percent for the same decade.

    Who Is this Degree for?

People who are interested in working in library support positions

People who are interested in working in library support positions

Common Career Paths (with approximate mean annual salary)

    – Library assistant ($23,000)*

    – Library technician ($30,000)*

Basics of an Associate’s Degree in Library Science

Associate’s degree programs in the library sciences allow technologically savvy students to use deductive reasoning and research skills to help others answer questions. Since most libraries of the world are rapidly moving toward digital formats, anyone seeking to work in libraries as assistants or technicians should also have interests in using technology as a cataloguing and researching resource.

    Pros and Cons

    Pros

    • You will be able to work in academic, private, public, and law libraries.
    • If you are interested in becoming a librarian, you will have built the foundation of the education necessary for bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
    • You will learn about the latest technologies.

    Cons

    • If you want to become a librarian, an associate’s degree will not suffice; you must complete your bachelor’s and master’s in library science.
    • Certification varies by state, so you may have to become recertified if you move.
    • This career track is not for introverted personality types; great communication and interpersonal skills are a must.

    Common Courses and Requirements

This type of program is designed to prepare students to work as library technicians or assistants in a variety of different library settings. You will need to become proficient in cataloging, document delivery, public services, technology, and circulation procedures. In order to graduate, you must demonstrate your proficiency by successfully completing a library internship.

Examples of courses you might take at the associate’s level are:

    • Business applications
    • Research methods
    • Web systems
    • Literature
    • Multimedia applications

    Online Degree Options

Since library and information science relies so heavily on technology, fully online programs are fairly easy to find. Courses are taught online, sometimes including video conferencing and streaming video of classes. Students maintain continuous contact with academic advisors via email, phone calls, and the college’s intranet.

How to Stand Out With This Degree

Strong technological and interpersonal skills are an absolute must in this area of study. Since the world is making the digital shift – and libraries are certainly at the center of it – it is important for library technicians and assistants to be well versed in the newest technologies, with an eye on what is to come.

Basics of a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science

Most Bachelor of Science in Library Science programs prepare students for graduate studies, so it is important to look for American Library Association-accredited programs. By incorporating a double major or a major in library science and a minor in another area of study, you become specialized in a specific area, helping you to becoming a potential subject librarian after you complete your master’s degree.

    Pros and Cons

    Pros

    • You will learn the latest research methods.
    • You will prepare yourself for master’s studies.
    • You will be qualified to work in a variety of different libraries.

    Cons

    • Bachelor-program graduates are qualified to hold the same jobs as an associate’s-degree holder.
    • In order to work as a librarian, and not in a support position to a librarian, you will most likely need to complete a master’s degree.
    • Since certification varies by state, moving to a different state means that you will have to become recertified.

    Common Courses and Requirements

Most programs require you to double major or take a major in library science, with a minor in another area of study. You will also have to complete an internship at a library of your choice, as well as a senior capstone.

Examples you might take at the bachelor’s level:

    • Digital environments
    • Information sources
    • Cataloging
    • Special libraries

    Online Degree Options

Online bachelor’s degree programs are readily available, and they may be structured similar to on-campus options. For example, both types of program typically require you to have maintained a minimum GPA in your core classes, as well as tackling a major or minor outside of the library discipline. You will interact with your professors via email, phone, or video conferencing; classes held online come in various forms such as videos and live streaming lectures. You may have to complete a library internship or capstone in order to graduate.

How to Stand Out With This Degree

If you are considering getting your bachelor’s degree in library science, you should also consider seeking and completing a master’s degree in library science. Bachelor’s degrees are great if you hope to work as a library technician or library assistant, but if you hope to become a subject specialist, reference librarian, library administrator, library director, or any other highly ranked position, opportunities will be better if you have earned a master’s degree.

    Accounting Program Career Facts

    What They Do:

Accountants and auditors prepare, analyze, and verify financial reports and taxes and monitor information systems that furnish this information to managers in business, industry, and government.

The major fields of accounting are public, management, and government accounting. Public accountants have their own businesses or work for public accounting firms. They perform a broad range of accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting activities for their clients, who may be corporations, governments, nonprofit organizations, or individuals. Management accountants (also called industrial, corporate, or private accountants) record and analyze the financial information of the companies for which they work. Other responsibilities include budgeting, performance evaluation, cost management, and asset management Government accountants and auditors maintain and examine the records of government agencies and audit private businesses and individuals whose activities are subject to government regulations or taxation.

Within each field, accountants often concentrate on one aspect of accounting. For example, many public accountants concentrate on tax matters, such as preparing individual income tax returns and advising companies of the tax advantages and disadvantages of certain business decisions.

Increasing numbers of accounting graduates are working in private corporations. Management accountants analyze and interpret the financial information corporate executives need to make sound business decisions. They also prepare financial reports for non-management groups, including stockholders, creditors, regulatory agencies, and tax authorities. Within accounting departments, they may work in financial analysis, planning and budgeting, cost accounting, and other areas.

    Who Would Enjoy It:

People with accounting jobs understand information systems and are skilled at working with computers to gather, report, and interpret information. Skills in human relations and interviewing are essential because accountants need to understand and solve financial problems for other people.

Accounting covers a wide variety of jobs including Financial Reporting, Income Tax Research and Preparation, Information Systems Design, Auditing, Budget Preparation, and Cost Accounting. Levels of accounting jobs range from clerical bookkeeping to Vice-President of Finance/Chief Financial Officers.

    What They Earn:

The average starting salary for someone with a bachelor s degree is about $35,000 per year, yet salaries ranged from $30,000 to $40,000. Those with 1 to 3 years experience will increase to about $50,000 a year, with salaries ranging from $30,000 and $60,000 in the higher management positions. After 10 to 15 years of experience in this field, one may earn up to $110,000 per year. Starting salaries with an associate degree vary with the individual s education and work experience. Bookkeeping jobs for students working on a degree vary from $8.00 per hour on up depending upon education and experience.

    How Many Jobs Available:

Employment of accountants and auditors is expected to grow about as fast as the average for all occupations through the year 2014. Each year, several hundred thousand jobs for bookkeeping, accounting, and auditing clerks will become available as these clerks transfer to other occupations or leave the labor force. The large size of the occupation ensures plentiful job openings, including many opportunities for temporary and part-time work.

How Much Schooling, Training, or Skill Development:

Most professional accountant and internal auditor positions require at least a bachelor s degree in accounting or a related field. However, many employers are beginning to prefer candidates who have earned a master s degree. A variety of bookkeeping and paraprofessional accounting jobs are available for people with less than an associate degree. There appears to be a growing trend for these jobs to request a minimum of an associate degree.

Accountants traditionally have been detail-oriented and that is still important, but modern accountants require a much broader set of abilities. The modern accountant needs highly developed analytical skills to deal with the ever-changing business environment. Good oral and written communication skills are a necessity. Interpersonal skills are highly desirable. The ability to effectively work with computers is a necessity. Computerization lessened the focus on repetitive, detail-oriented work in accounting in favor of analysis and communication.

Based on recommendations made by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, most states currently require CPA candidates to complete 150 semester hours of college coursework. Students already holding a bachelor s degree in another field who earn an associate degree in accounting may meet the educational qualifications for the CPA examination and entry into professional levels of accounting. In Michigan, the 150-hour law can be met with LCC classes if the student has a 4-year degree already.

    Logistic Regression #logistic #regression,online #course #statistics, #online #course, #ols #methods, #binomial #logistic

    #

Logistic regression is one of the most commonly-used statistical techniques. It is used with data in which there is a binary (success-failure) outcome (response) variable, or where the outcome takes the form of a binomial proportion. Like linear regression, one estimates the relationship between predictor variables and an outcome variable. In logistic regression, however, one estimates the probability that the outcome variable assumes a certain value, rather than estimating the value itself. This online course will cover the functional form of the logistic model and how to interpret model coefficients. The concepts of “odds” and “odds ratio” are examined, as well as how to predict probabilities of events and how to assess model fit. We shall also examine the basics of Bayesian logistic regression, which is becoming more popular in research. R, Stata, and SAS code is provided for all examples used during the course.

This course may be taken individually (one-off) or as part of a certificate program.

Being out of school for over 25 years, it was nice to have his feedback put simply, yet directly.” — Lisa M.

Although I had previously taken a Psychology class, I enjoyed learning further information about the abnormalities of the mind, how they work and ways to treat them. The most helpful part, however, was learning of these disorders, information about them and treatment. I have encountered people in my life with bipolar disorder, as well as clinical depression. I have never quite understood the disorders or what their treatment options. Now I can finally understand and carry a conversation with them regarding their condition.” — Marianna P.

    Welcome to Accounting Basics
    for Students!

Accounting Basics for Students is the best source of free basic financial accounting information – a site that has the simplest accounting tutorials, explanations and examples on the net!

My name is Michael Celender. I’ve been tutoring, lecturing and helping accounting students for a number of years. I created this site to help students and working professionals around the world learn accounting basics.

This site is based entirely around an accounting book I wrote. The first six links on the navigation bar are the first six chapters in the accounting book itself. In other words, Basic Concepts is chapter 1 in the book, Basic Transactions is chapter 2, Double Entries is chapter 3, and so on.

These 6 chapters (51 accounting tutorials in total ) have been provided here absolutely free for you to look through – basically a free accounting course online. I recommend going through these 6 chapters (all 51 accounting lessons) in order, starting with Basic Accounting Concepts . especially if you are new to the subject.

What else can you expect to see on the site?

If you’re looking for information on a specific accounting topic, use the “Search this website” tool on the top-right of your screen. It’ll show all the web pages, lessons and accounting questions on this site that deal with your topic.

At the bottom of each and every one of the 51 lessons on this site you can find questions related to that accounting topic. These are questions and exercises submitted by visitors, many of which have been solved for your benefit. If the questions have not yet been solved, you can help your fellow accounting students by trying to answer their questions. Use the “Search this website” box on the top-right of the screen to help you locate questions on specific topics.

You can post your own comments (and questions) using the Facebook comments sections at the bottom of every page.

In the section, Student Resources. I list my recommended resources for study and college, from accounting tutors to cheap textbooks as well as an amazing study skills system.

If you like the information on my website you can support us and keep the website free for people all around the world by:

Finally, stay up to date with us by signing up for my free accounting newsletter. or checking the Accounting Basics Blog (which lists the latest additions to the site).

All the best in your studies,

P.S. The accounting information presented on this site is in line with both U.S. and international accounting 101-type curricula, as accounting basics are virtually identical the world over. Only minor terms may differ (depending on where you are studying).

P.P.S. If you’re a student, use this site as a supplement. not as a complete replacement of your accounting textbook or lecturer, as you will be tested on what your lecturer and textbook say, not on this site, right? Right. -)

P.P.P.S. Please like and share our lessons questions with your friends.

    Course Format

Business 110 consists of short video lessons that are organized into topical chapters. Each video is approximately 5-10 minutes in length and comes with a quick quiz to help you measure your learning. At the end of each chapter, you can complete a chapter test to see if you’re ready to move on or have some material to review. Once you’ve completed the entire course, take the practice test to see if you’re ready to earn credit.

The course is completely self-paced. Watch lessons on your schedule whenever and wherever you want.

    Grading Policy

Your grade for this course will be calculated out of 150 points. The minimum score required to pass and earn real ACE college credit for this course is 105 points, or an overall course grade of 70%. The table below shows the assignments you must complete and how they’ll be incorporated into the overall grade.

    Proctored Final Exam

    • Quizzes are meant to test your comprehension of each lesson as you progress through the course. You must complete the required quizzes with a score of 80% or higher to earn points toward your final grade and access the proctored final exam. Chapter exams are for self-assessment and do not count toward your final grade.
    • The proctored final exam is a cumulative test designed to ensure that you’ve mastered the material in the course. You’ll earn one point for every percentage point you receive on the proctored final. (So if you score an 85% on the final, that’s 85 points toward your final grade.)

    How It Works:

The American Council on Education (ACE) has evaluated this business course and recommended it for college credit. To earn credit, follow these steps:

    • Complete Business 110 by watching videos, taking short quizzes and completing practice exams.

For this reason, you will need a partner who will support you throughout entire lifecycle of your application.

Saving a couple of hundreds may appear to be another huge mistake. Price should never be a determining factor when choosing an app developer. The cheapest product usually means the worst. You should always consider the long run. Low-cost campaigns and developing process can result in additional costs in the future.

Coding is not the only thing considered in the package. You need to take into account such vital factors as design, usability and promotion. Independent developers and freelancers are usually not able to provide a full package of services. It may result in addition search for testers, marketers, designers and other specialists.

Do not underestimate the role of design. The number of app users or website visitors directly depends on how cool your design is. In other words, you need to look for a company that will add some new features to usability and interface. Consider every aspect of your product and plan the structure in advance.
