Calphalon Culinary Center – Venues & Event Spaces – 1000 W Washington

Can t speak to the classes but I can say with 100% certainty that this is an ideal location for a corporate team building exercise or event. Great kitchen, helpful kitchen staff, and beautiful equipment. Rental can be expensive but well worth it, especially if your company is footing the bill.

We have booked several events at Calphalon Culinary Center! It s one of our top places to recommend to our clients who are looking to stage a hand-on cooking party with our company, Parties That Cook. I work exclusively with,Tom McGinty, who handles all the event space and kitchen rental bookings. He is informative, responsive, professional and very helpful!

We recently hosted a meeting for 16 attendees, followed by an interactive, team-building event at the Calphalon Culinary Center. From the initial phone call to inquire about the venue, Tom was amazing. Responsive, courteous, and quick to offer availability, pricing, and options. Our group met in the beautiful boardroom for an hour meeting, then all moved into the kitchen to begin the fun! I love that the venue is BYOB- everyone brought their choice of wine. The Calphalon culinary cooking sets are the very best and it was a pleasure to cook with them! Tom and his staff were informative, funny, and were overall great hosts. Our attendees had such a great time that we stayed after (maybe a little too late!) to ask Tom and his chefs a ton of questions about the venue and their culinary experience. I would absolutely recommend Tom and his team, the Calphalon Culinary Center to anyone looking for a group option that allows the attendees to interact, have fun, and learn something in a beautiful setting! I am excited to book my next meeting with Tom and the team!

The Calphalon Culinary Center no longer offers cooking classes.

Yes, you will have to use Calphalon pots, pans, and utensils at this school. And you may even be subject to a bit of advertising. But these classes are seriously great. You can take either of the two kinds that they offer: hands-on for those who want to do it themselves or a demonstration class in which you sit in an audience and watch a chef do all the work. The best part is when you get to eat your creation! But hurry, because these classes fill up fast!

My husband and I went together to a vegetarian cooking class there. The facility is beautiful, the instruction was GREAT and most importantly, the recipes we made were amazing and delicous. We have used them quite a few times at home since going as well. It is an advertisement for their products but we have a lot of Calphalon products in our kitchen and they are great to work with. You even get a discount that day, if you buy anything after class.

The Hand Center of San Antonio – Doctors – 21 Spurs Ln,

#

Dr. Ramesh Srinivasan provided succinct, expert, and minimally invasive medical care for my open-fractured finger on my dominant hand. I 100% recommend him! Thank you very much Dr. Ramesh Srinivasan!

Dr. Srinivasan is a terrific doctor! Very professional and thorough. He really made sure to spend his time addressing my concerns which is a rarity these days. Most doctors just rush you right on out without giving you the opportunity to ask as many questions as you would like. I would highly recommend receiving treatment at this office!

Doctors are great but if you schedule a 10 o clock appt. it shouldn t be 11:45 when you are seen.

I recently found out that I needed a small surgery done on my hand. I have what is called de Quevain. Nervously, I looked up many doctors and came across Dr. Bagg at the hand Center of San Antonio. I read his bio and was very impressed with all he has done both in the military and outside the medical field. When I met with him he was very professional friendly and informative. He was also kind enough to make a special appointment for me on a Friday, since we do not live in the San Antonio area. He assured me this surgery was quick and painless. I m happy to report his staff was beyond friendly and professional. They made me feel comfortable and communicated everything that was going to happen to step-by-step. The surgery was in fact quick and painless. I was in and out in an hour. I recommend this doctor and to anyone who is in search of a great hand doctor within amazing staff.

Wish I would have gone somewhere else. If your deductible hasn t been met, or you ll be paying for any of this out of your own pocket, watch out. They don t tell you up front how much $$$ you ll be paying, and it is a new charge every time you return for a follow up, check, etc. And believe me, the charges are exorbitant. The bills will be coming in months after all is said and done. I feel like I was taken advantage of. I can t recommend them.

Why MHTA For Hair Transplant Restoration?

Doctor John Diep is one of the best hair transplant doctors in the San Jose and San Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Diep has pioneered new hair transplant techniques, procedures and medical tools that produce outstanding hair restoration results.

Dr. Diep performs both FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant) and FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) hair transplant surgeries. FUT, also known as “Strip harvesting” technique, results in a linear scar in the donor area. Where as the FUE is an advance and minimally invasive hair transplant procedure which involves harvesting one hair follicle at a time, leaving minimal tiny dots of scars scattered throughout the back of the head at the donor area, very difficult to be detected, allowing an individual to wear his or her hair short. FUT and FUE methods have both benefits and risks. To learn the differences with both techniques, please go to FUE vs. FUT.

Through many years of experience in the art of FUE hair surgery, Dr. Diep invented the DFC technique in 2010. DFC, better known as the Diep FUE Curve technique, is a new technologically advance form of FUE hair transplant surgery. DFC is the most efficient and least invasive FUE hair transplant surgery available, producing minimal scars. Through further refinement, the DFC can harvest straight, wavy and even curly hair roots with minimal hair follicle damage. Beside inventing the DFC technique, he also invented his own FUE tool called the “Diep Extractor” to perform these hair transplant surgeries with natural and dense hair result. Dr. Diep is not only an inventor, but also an artist and a hair surgeon, producing natural, full and lush hair. Thousands of people around the world and throughout the United States have sought out Dr. Diep for his special talent in restoring natural hair.

What s a Nurse Practitioner? #nurse #practitioners, #nps, #np, #apn, #certified #family

#

What’s a Nurse Practitioner?

What’s an NP?

A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse (RN) who has additional education and training in a specialty area, such as family practice or pediatrics. Pediatric and family practice NPs can provide regular health care for kids.

Nurse practitioners (also referred to as advanced practice nurses, or APNs) have a master’s degree in nursing (MS or MSN) and board certification in their specialty. For example, a pediatric NP has advanced education, skills, and training in caring for infants, children, and teens.

Licensed as nurse practitioners and registered nurses, NPs follow the rules and regulations of the Nurse Practice Act of the state where they work. If accredited through the national board exam, the NP will have an additional credential, such as Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) or Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (CFNP).

An NP who specializes in pediatrics can:

  • document health history and perform a physical exam
  • plan a child’s care with parents and the child’s health care team
  • do some tests and procedures
  • answer questions about health problems
  • treat common childhood illnesses
  • specialize in and manage chronic illnesses
  • change the plan of care with a child’s doctor as needed
  • teach families about the effects of illness on a child’s growth and development
  • teach kids about self-care and healthy lifestyle choices
  • write prescriptions
  • order medical tests
  • teach other health care members, student nurses, and local groups about children’s health care
  • provide referrals to community groups
  • provide telemedicine care for children and their parents

NPs and Doctors

Most NPs maintain close working relationships with doctors and consult them as needed. NPs are licensed in all 50 states and can dispense most medicines. Some states require a doctor to co-sign prescriptions. In a few states, NPs can practice and prescribe without physician supervision.

Although doctors have additional training to help patients deal with complex medical problems, many people feel that NPs spend more time with their patients. NP training emphasizes disease prevention, reduction of health risks, and thorough patient education.

Like doctors, NPs are involved in more than just direct patient care. Many participate in education, research, and legislative activities to improve the quality of health care in the United States.

Should My Kids See a Nurse Practitioner?

Pediatric NPs can deliver much of the health care that kids require, consulting doctors and specialists as necessary. Educating kids and their families about normal growth and childhood development issues (e.g. toilet training. temper tantrums. biting ) is a big part of the pediatric NP’s role.

Pediatric and family practice NPs can treat acute (short-term) illnesses such as upper respiratory infections, ear infections. rashes, and urinary tract infections. They can also specilaize in and manage chronic illnesses such as asthma. allergies. diabetes. and many others.

If your child has severe health problems that require advanced training or highly specialized medical care, you may need to see a doctor. If you’re unsure about your child’s specific illness and want to know if an NP can help, ask your doctor. The scope of an NP’s practice depends upon your state’s regulations.

If you want to verify an NP’s credentials, check with the American College of Nurse Practitioners (ACNP). It’s also a good idea to ask NPs about their specific qualifications, education, and training, just as you would interview any doctor for your child.

Also be sure to check with your health insurance provider to be sure that services provided by NPs are covered through your policy.

How Can I Find an NP?

You can find pediatric NPs through the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) and through local hospitals or nursing schools. Also, many doctors share office space with NPs to provide all types of primary care. Other doctors work with NPs to offer them training in different types of health care. Your doctor might already have such an arrangement in place, so just ask.

Diabetes Doctors: Endocrinologist, Dietician, Eye Doctor, and More #diabetes, #diabetes #care #team,

#

Your Diabetes Care Team

Your health care team helps you manage your diabetes and maintain your good health. According to the American Diabetes Association, your diabetes care team should include:

You: You are the most important member of your diabetes care team! Only you know how you feel. Your diabetes care team will depend on you to talk to them honestly and supply information about your body.

Monitoring your blood sugar tells your doctors whether your current treatment is controlling your diabetes well. By checking your blood sugar levels. you can also prevent or reduce the episodes of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar ) you have.

Primary doctor: Your primary care doctor is who you see for general checkups and when you get sick. This person is usually an internist or family medicine doctor who has experience treating people with diabetes, too.

Because your primary care doctor is your main source of care, he or she will most likely head up your diabetes care team.

Endocrinologist: An endocrinologist is a doctor who has special training and experience in treating people with diabetes. You should see yours regularly.

Dietitian: A registered dietitian (RD) is trained in the field of nutrition. Food is a key part of your diabetes treatment. so yours will help you figure out your food needs based on your weight. lifestyle, medication. and other health goals (like lowering blood fat levels or blood pressure ).

Nurse educator: A diabetes educator or diabetes nurse practitioner is a registered nurse (RN) with special training and background in caring for and teaching people with diabetes. Nurse educators often help you with the day-to-day aspects of living with diabetes.

Eye doctor: Either an ophthalmologist (a doctor who can treat eye problems both medically and surgically) or an optometrist (someone who is trained to examine the eye for certain problems, such as how well the eye focuses; optometrists are not medical doctors) should check your eyes at least once a year. Diabetes can affect the blood vessels in the eyes. which can lead to losing your sight.

Podiatrist: For anyone with diabetes, which can cause nerve damage in the extremities, foot care is important. A podiatrist is trained to treat feet and problems of the lower legs. These doctors have a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from a college of podiatry. They have also done a residency (hospital training) in podiatry.

Continued

Dentist: People with diabetes are at somewhat greater, and earlier, risk of gum disease. The excess blood sugar in your mouth makes it a nice home for bacteria, which can lead to infection. You should see your dentist every 6 months. Be sure to tell your dentist that you have diabetes.

Exercise trainer: No matter what kind of diabetes you have, exercise should play a major role in managing it. The best person to plan your fitness program. along with your doctor, is someone trained in the scientific basis of exercise and in safe conditioning methods.

How Often Should I See My Doctor?

People with diabetes who use insulin shots usually see their doctor at least every 3 to 4 months. People who take pills or who are managing their diabetes through diet alone should have an appointment at least every 4 to 6 months.

You may need to go more often if your blood sugar isn’t controlled or if your complications are getting worse.

What Does My Doctor Need to Know?

Generally, your doctor wants to understand how well your diabetes is controlled and whether diabetic complications are starting or getting worse. Therefore, at each visit, give your doctor your home blood sugar monitoring record and tell him about any symptoms of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar ) or hyperglycemia (high blood sugar).

Also let your doctor know about any changes in your diet, exercise, or medicines and any new illnesses you may have gotten. Tell your doctor if you’ve had symptoms of eye, nerve, kidney. or cardiovascular problems such as:

  • Blurred vision
  • Numbness or tingling in your feet
  • Persistent hand, feet, face, or leg swelling
  • Cramping or pain in the legs
  • Chest pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Numbness or weakness on one side of your body
  • Unusual weight gain

What Lab Tests Should I Have?

When you have diabetes, you should get regular lab tests:

You may need thyroid and liver tests, too.

How to Find Affordable Health Care #health #care, #healthcare, #medical #care, #coverage,

How to Find Affordable Health Care

Many kids in the United States aren’t covered by health insurance, or are covered by plans with high deductibles and limited benefits.

If your kids are among them because you can’t afford adequate coverage or your employer-sponsored plan doesn’t cover everything, don’t despair. Programs are available that provide affordable even free medical care and are designed to meet or supplement a person’s medical insurance needs.

Your kids could be eligible for coverage right now and you might not know it. Here are some options that may be available to your family.

Enroll Your Child in a Public Program

Two public programs work together in every state to provide health coverage for children in low- and middle-income families: Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Medicaid is run by states with a mix of state and federal funding. It offers health coverage for those with limited incomes, including children and parents, pregnant women, those with disabilities, and seniors. And kids might be eligible for coverage if they’re U.S. citizens or lawfully admitted immigrants, even if their parents are not.

CHIP is a program funded by the federal government that each state administers. It provides health coverage for American kids under age 19 in working families who qualify based on their parents’ income. CHIP is often helpful for families with incomes too high for Medicaid, but who are still having a hard time affording health insurance.

Each state has different CHIP rules. Some CHIP programs, for example, cover pregnant women as well as parents and related caregivers (such as grandparents raising their grandchildren). Each state has its own name for its CHIP and children’s Medicaid programs, too (for instance, the CHIP program in Delaware is called Delaware Healthy Children Program; in Connecticut, it’s called the Husky Plan).

To learn about your state’s CHIP and Medicaid programs and other services available to your family, visit InsureKidsNow.gov or HealthCare.gov. There, you can apply for CHIP or Medicaid online. You also can call 1-877-KIDS NOW (1-877-543-7669) to find out about the CHIP program in your state.

A child’s eligibility for these government programs is based on household income. Once your child is enrolled, you’ll receive a list of medical providers near you who accept CHIP/Medicaid patients. You can then make appointments with those providers any time your child needs to see a doctor and also be covered in case of an emergency.

Find a Private Insurer

The majority of kids from low- or middle-income families will qualify for free or low-cost health care through Medicaid and/or CHIP. But now, through the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, many privately run health insurance companies will offer similar benefits.

You can find out if your family is eligible for a plan by visiting the virtual health insurance marketplace at HealthCare.gov. This government service and its website make it easy to apply for insurance and learn which programs are available in your area. By just filling out one application form, the marketplace allows you to compare and contrast the benefits of each plan, as well as compare out-of-pocket expenses like co-pays and deductibles for care.

Visit a Local Community Health Center

A federally funded community health center is another option for low-cost medical care for your kids. You can take your kids there for checkups, immunizations, treatment when they’re sick, dental care, prescription drugs, and mental health care.

You also can go there for complete care yourself, including when you’re pregnant and for substance abuse care if you need it.

These centers tend to offer medical care on a sliding scale based on your income. Depending on your situation, it could be free. These centers can help you get health insurance and usually will accept that insurance once you are enrolled.

To find one near you, visit the Department of Health Human Services (DHHS) health center page and enter your zip code under “Find a Health Center.” Check the website of the center near you about services, costs, and hours and call ahead for an appointment. Some community clinics are only open on certain days or for limited times.

Rural health centers, which are similar to federally funded community health centers, serve families in rural areas. You can find one in your state by visiting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services website .

Also, visit the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics’ website to find a free or low-cost clinic. The U.S. has more than 1,200 free clinics, which are staffed by a volunteer workforce of doctors, dentists, nurses, therapists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, technicians, and other health care professionals.

You also might know about urgent-care centers, which are different from community health centers, rural health centers, and free clinics. These centers are designed for people who need care right away or when their doctors aren’t in the office. They can be expensive and might not take some types of insurance. Be sure to check with your insurance company before going to one of these.

Talk Dollars With Your Doctors

If your kids don’t qualify for a public program (such as Medicaid or CHIP), they need services that aren’t covered by your insurance, or you have a high deductible, you can try negotiating a reduced, cash-paying rate with your pediatrician before getting services. Cutting deals with doctors is done more often than you might think.

Start by asking: “Do you accept patients on a fee-for-service basis?” If your insurance has a high deductible, consider yourself a self-paying patient until that deductible is met. So, your discussion about money with your doctor might begin like this: “I’m going to have to pay 20% of the cost of that procedure and I can’t afford it” or “that’s not covered by my insurance.” Talking dollars can be helpful because the doctor might be able to suggest less expensive treatments.

And don’t be afraid to shop around for a doctor who can provide care at the lowest price. If specialist A agrees to do a certain type of surgery for $2,000, for example, and surgeon B can do it for $1,500, you’ll save $500 by going to doctor B. But be sure that you’re never compromising the quality of your child’s health care for cost. When comparing rates, look for providers who’ve been referred by your doctor or another source you trust.

For suggested self-pay rates on a variety of medical services, visit Health Care Bluebook’s website .

Because each provider typically receives payment separately, be prepared to negotiate with each provider your child sees. If the procedure you’re discussing for your child requires general anesthesia, for example, be sure to ask the surgeon which anesthesiologist she works with and contact that doctor, too, to negotiate a cash-paying price for his services. And don’t forget to ask if there’s a facility fee for where the surgery takes place and negotiate that, too.

Find a Safety-Net Hospital

In 1946 Congress passed the Hill-Burton Act, which gave hospitals and other health care facilities money for construction and modernization. In return, hospitals agreed to provide a reasonable volume of services to people who can’t pay. The program stopped receiving funds in 1997, but about 170 health care facilities nationwide still must provide free or low-cost medical services. These “safety-net hospitals” are committed to providing access to care for people with limited or no access to health care due to their financial situation, insurance status, or health condition.

There are safety-net hospitals in every state except Alaska, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Wyoming, and all the territories except Puerto Rico.

To qualify for free care at a safety-net hospital, you generally have to make a gross yearly income of less than $23,550 for a family of four. If you make more than that, you still may be eligible for reduced-cost care if your income is up to double that amount.

You can get more information or find a safety-net hospital near you on DHHS’s safety-net hospital page .

Get Necessary Medical Care After Your Car Accident

If you are seriously injured in a car accident, emergency services will probably come to the scene and take you to the closest hospital, where you will receive all the medical care you need. But what about less serious accidents, where there is no immediate pain or noticeable discomfort? Many times, people involved in car accidents don’t even know they have been injured. One reason for this is that your body responds to pain signals and the stress of your accident by producing morphine-like hormones called endorphins. Endorphins (and adrenaline) mask the pain until your body and mind have had time to recover from the stress of the accident.

In this article, we’ll explain why it’s important to get proper medical care after a car accident — obviously for your health, but also for any injury claim you might make at some point down the line. (Learn more about What to Do After a Car Accident.)

Whenever You Have Symptoms, See Your Doctor

A lot of personal injury attorneys have stories about clients coming into their offices saying they felt no pain at the scene of their accident, or later the same day. But the following morning they woke up feeling like they had been run over by a truck. These stories are credible — they’re not examples of healthy people looking for a payout via a lawsuit. It can take several hours, several days or even a week for injuries or serious discomfort to register with a car accident victim. (Learn more about Common Car Accident Injuries.)

So, the lesson is this: whenever you feel symptoms of injury after a car accident — pain, numbness, dizziness, not feeling like yourself, whatever it is — get medical care! Don’t assume that your injuries will clear up on their own. Do the safe thing and get checked out. (Click here to learn more about why it’s crucial to get necessary medical care after a car accident.)

Continue Treatment Until You Are Released

After a car accident, if your doctor diagnoses an injury and begins treatment, continue the course of treatment until your doctor releases you from it.

There are two main reasons why it is important that you follow through with your treatment. The obvious reason is that your doctor is in the best position to determine how seriously you are injured, and to prescribe the best treatment for you — to help you recover more quickly, and to make you as comfortable as possible while you are recovering. The second reason: your doctor’s records of your visits are the best way to document and verify the nature and extent of your injuries, as well as the course and duration of your treatment. This verification is essential if you later make a car accident injury claim.

Review Your Doctor’s Treatment Records

If you’re being treated for injuries stemming from a car accident, ask your doctor for copies of your medical records. Read them over carefully, and have your doctor correct any errors that you find.

When you review your records, pay attention to the description of your car accident. This is usually part of the first entry in the records. Did the doctor get it right when describing the accident, or did he misunderstand the facts? Does the report say that your car was struck on the right, when actually the impact was on the left? Does it say that you were going 45 when you were really going 25, as it says in the police report that was prepared after the accident?

Insurance adjusters and defense lawyers who are on the other driver’s side will use any inconsistencies like these to try to prove that the accident didn’t happen the way you say it did.

Also make sure that the medical records accurately state your symptoms.

Finally, check to make sure that your doctor got your medical history right. If your doctor has written that you have a history of neck problems like the one she is treating, but you’ve never had any neck problems in the past, you need to have that information corrected. If you make an injury claim, the defense always looks at your medical history to find something (such as a pre-existing condition) that they can point to as the “real” cause of your current symptoms. So, make sure that your medical history is accurate, especially when it comes to pre-existing conditions.

Synovial Fluid Analysis #synovial #fluid #analysis, # #2006 #21st #abnormal #abnormally #activities

#

Synovial Fluid Analysis

Synovial fluid analysis is a group of tests that examine joint (synovial) fluid. The tests help diagnose and treat joint-related problems.

Alternative Names

Joint fluid analysis; Joint fluid aspiration

How the test is performed

A sample of synovial fluid is needed for this test. Synovial fluid is normally a thick, straw-colored liquid found in small amounts in joints, bursae, and tendon sheaths.

After the area is cleaned, the health care provider will insert a sterile needle through the skin and into the joint space. Once in the joint, fluid is drawn through the needle into a sterile syringe.

The fluid sample is sent to the laboratory. The laboratory technician will check the sample’s color and clarity, and then place it under a microscope to check it for red and white blood cells, crystals (in the case of gout), and bacteria. In addition, there may be a chemical analysis, and if infection is a concern, a sample will be cultured to see if any bacteria grow.

How to prepare for the test

Normally, no special preparation is necessary, but contact your health care provider before the test to make sure. Tell your doctor if you are taking blood thinners, as they can affect test results.

How the test will feel

Occasionally, the health care provider will first inject local anesthesia with a small needle, which will sting. The aspiration is done with a larger needle and may also cause some pain. The procedure usually lasts less than one minute.

Why the test is performed

The test can help diagnose the cause of pain or swelling in joints. Removing the fluid can also help relieve joint pain.

This test may be used to diagnose:

  • Gout
  • Infection
  • Other inflammatory joint conditions
  • Joint injury
  • Osteoarthritis

What abnormal results mean

Abnormal joint fluid may look cloudy or abnormally thick.

Blood in the joint fluid may be a sign of injury inside the joint or a body-wide bleeding problem. An excess amount of normal synovial fluid can also be a sign of osteoarthritis.

What the risks are

  • Infection of the joint — unusual but more common with repeated aspirations
  • Bleeding into the joint space

Special considerations

Ice or cold packs may be applied to the joint for 24 to 36 hours after the test to reduce the swelling and joint pain. Depending on the exact problem, you can probably resume your normal activities after the procedure. Talk to your health care provider to determine what activity is most appropriate for you.

“Abortion is no longer a dangerous procedure. This is true not only for therapeutic abortions performed in hospitals but also so-called illegal abortions performed by the physician. What distinguishes CCRS and Dr. Lee from other vision correction center?

We have been dedicated to delivering true customized eye care and vision correction surgery since the office was established in 2000. While our primary objective is to
offer the highest level of care, affordability is also at the forefront of our practice philosophy. We feel that by eliminating inefficiencies and focusing on the essentials, we can make world-class care affordable. To this end, Dr. Lee hascontinued to invest not only in technology but also in people with continued professional education not only for himself but for all the staff. Four key components that reflect CCRS philosophy are:

+ Latest technology: Bladeless Wavefront LASIK, Topo-guided Custom Ablation Treatment (T-CAT), Small Incision Lenticule Extraction (SMILE), Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) and Advanced Technology IOL for cataract surgery are some of the examples of cutting edge technology utilized for custom vision correction.
+ Expertise: Dr. Lee is truly a pioneer and a leader in custom vision correction as evidenced by his experience, awards, and recognitions but most importantly by the patient testimonials.
+ Affordability: This stems from Dr. Lee’s lifelong belief that the highest quality care should also be affordable and that the cost should not be the major factor in realizing one’s dream of a perfect vision.
+ Friendly and caring staff: All the staff at CCRS are dedicated to their responsibilities and take great pride in offering the very best care possible.

T-CAT stands for Topography-guided Custom Ablation. This is the LASIK at its highest level of precision perfected over 20 years of laser vision correction experience. It
combines the two most important concepts in laser vision correction:Wavefront and Topography. Through the analysis of the cornea using a highly accurate diagnostic device called VARIO Topolyzer, 22,000 reference points are analyzed to yield comprehensive and detailed data. These data are then used to detect the most subtleabnormalities of the cornea and are then seamlessly transferred to Wavelight EX500 excimer laser for a true customized laser vision correction surgery. In the FDA study, T-CAT results have far exceeded other LASIK procedures with the highest rate of vision better than 20/20, the highest rate of patients seeing better than with their glasses or contact lenses, and finally highest rate of patient satisfaction. (Please see our video)

SMILE stands for Small Incision Lenticule Extraction. Frequently referred to as the Flap-less LASIK,it combines the safety of PRK and precision and faster recovery of LASIK. In SMILE, a refractive lenticule (sliver of corneal tissue) is created in the middle part of the cornea by making an anterior and posterior cut with a highly precise femtosecond laser (VisuMax). The amount and the type of correction (i.e. nearsightedness and astigmatism) are determined by the thickness and the shape of the lenticule. This lenticule is thenextracted through a tiny (2mm) peripheral incision.

This method of performing laser vision correction offers several advantages over conventional LASIK particularly in terms of safety profile. First, since a flap is not created as in LASIK, there are no flap- related complications such as dislodged flap and wrinkling of the flap. This means that starting immediately after the surgery, patients can rub their eyes, put on eye makeup, and not be subjected to the strict post-op care as is required with other forms of eye surgery. Second, as the front part of the cornea give much of the structural support, leaving it uncut and intact allows the cornea to retain much of its structural integrity. This is particularly beneficial in
patients with high correction or thin corneas.

What is the best method for me?

The advances in vision correction technology have now made the concept of true custom correction a reality. This means that “good enough” is no longer the expected nor acceptable outcome. At CCRS, we are dedicated to bringing out the very best vision in all of our patients. It is also equally important to offer the safest surgery possible. Considering the significant variation in the eye condition among patients, this cannot be achieved through one method alone. LASIK for everyone is now the concept of the past. We now have procedures that are effective and safe for people with high correction, a thin cornea, dryeyes, those at risk for glare and halos, and those with a higher probability ofexperiencing regression following surgery. These methods will also need to be modified according to the patient’s age. At CCRS, the patients will undergo a thorough examination following which all possible options will be discussed. (Please refer to our procedures section for different types of vision correction surgery.)

What causes glare or halos? Can this be prevented or predicted before the surgery?

There are multiple reasons why a patient may experience glare and halos following vision correction surgery. The common underlying reason is the scattering of light as it passes through the cornea. This is why corneal surgeries such as PRK and LASIK tend to cause more glare and halos than non-corneal surgery such as ICL. PRK and LASIK physically alter the part of the cornea that is in the path of light whereas ICL does not induce any in changes to the natural shape of the eye. Dry eyes resulting in uneven tear film over the cornea can also scatter light and is another important reason for glare and halos. Finally, while large pupil size has been widely regarded as a cause for glare and halos, it has been shown recently that except for very large pupils (greater than 9 mm), there is no significant correlation between pupil size and degree of glare and halos observed following LASIK surgery.

What causes dry eyes following LASIK?

The eye has a self-monitoring and self-regulating mechanism to keep itself lubricated. Following LASIK, eyes can become dry as a result of disruption in this mechanism. Approximately two to four weeks following surgery, this mechanism is restored and tear production returns to baseline. However in some patients,
especially those who have a preexisting dry eye condition, the post-operative recovery process may be delayed or incomplete. Very rarely this condition will affect the health of the eyes. Also now there are several effective treatments to address dry eyes.

What causes vision change following surgery?

There are two reasons why vision may change following vision correction surgery. First is the “healing or reparative process” following surgery, and the second is the
natural changes that occur with age. This healing process is observed with “subtraction procedures” such as LASIK and PRK in which corneal tissue is removed. Thus, with a greater amount of tissue removal, there is a greater probability of change in vision following surgery. This process, called regression, can be effectively addressed with a “touch up” or enhancement procedure.

What is the best age to undergo vision correction surgery?

While there is no specific age that is considered to be the best time for eye surgery, people in their 20’s and 30’s are considered to be optimal candidates. This is not
because eyes of the people outside this age range are not physically suitable for the surgery but because of the patients’ desire to be glasses independent as long as possible and also due to the misunderstanding that vision correction surgery is a one-time event. It is well understood that children and those going through puberty have a higher probability of vision change with the passage of time. Furthermore starting in the mid-40’s, people will start to develop a need for reading glasses. This means that, while vision correction procedure can still benefit people in these categories, their probability of becoming and remaining glasses free for a prolonged period of time is lower. However, depending on their specific needs, many people can benefit from surgery. This is particularly so as, now, there are different vision correction procedures that can be utilized at different stations in life. This is why it is important that patients have a long term plan and consult a doctor who has
expertise in all forms of vision correction surgery.

Does LASIK hurt?

No. Local anesthesia is achieved with eye drops and the procedure takes less than five minutes per eye. Furthermore, during VisuMaxBladesless LASIK, patients
experience minimal pressure and discomfort. The curved interface of the laser makes gentle contact with the eye similar to putting on a contact lens. This gentle way of creating a flap is also the most precise and safest way to perform LASIK surgery. While some patients may experience tearing and mild burning sensation following surgery, there are drops to significantly reduce this post-operative discomfort.

What is a Refractive Cataract Surgery?

This is a process in which a vision correction is performed at the time of cataract removal. This is now possible as a result of advancements in cataract surgery, diagnostic devices, and lens technology. These advancements allow the doctors to prepare for surgery with greater precision, perform surgery with greater safety, and
utilize advanced technology lenses to restore best natural vision independent of glasses following cataract surgery. Be sure to inquire about the newest technology in cataract surgery.

Payne Air Conditioning – Heating Inc – Contractors – 1048 E Oleander

#

1048 E Oleander St
Lakeland. FL 33801
(863) 686-6163

In the middle of moving to our new home and our A/C stoppped working. Called on a Friday around 4pm and they sent out a service tech right away. Got my A/C going with new freon and a new thermostat installed and it was cooling again. They were fast, prompt and reliable with great customer service. I would recommend them to everyone and would use them again!

Absolutely the worst customer service that I have experienced. Had a scheduled appointment one hour and 20 minutes later I contacted Payne in regards to the whereabouts of the technician that was late for our appointment. I was informed that due to sick calls I had to be rescheduled however no one called me to inform me the need to reschedule. The lady on the phone however did apologize and put me next on the list. One hour and 30 minutes later I received a voicemail I returned the call within 7 minutes to be told that because I did not answer the phone they sent the tech to another call and would put me next on the list again. I m pretty sure this company does not care whether they get your business or not. If you need air conditioning work I would not recommend using this company whatsoever. Awful

We had an appointment for an annual service call, tech said we had a leak. Day 2, another tech was sent out and he could not find it, said yet another tech will have to come out, one with a special tool to locate the leak. Day 3, two guys show up, located the leak inside and repaired it. In one week, I had to be home 3 days for them to locate and repair the leak. what a PAYNE! When they left, I discovered blue glue all down my wall and all over the white baseboard. This is fairly a brand new home and I was sick. They tracked in grass, which I guess can be expected, but then I had to clean my guest bathroom afterwards. Guess they felt at home in my residence.

Although this company is highly used in my community, did decent work with annual cleanings and is an expert with Carrier systems, I will never use them again for two reasons. ONE. They are expensive. They have a VIP membership if you pay a year in advance for your annual service you are entitled to something throughout the year (perhaps emergency service first call deal or something-you ll have to ask them). This deal is higher than everyone else s annual check and it s hard to keep up with. I ve gotten better service for less by just calling others outright . TWO. When they came out for an annual service call they said I had a leak. I paid for the service call. They sent a tech to verify the leak. I paid for that service call. Then they sent a third guy to fix the leak and I paid for that service call. The bill was double what anyone else estimated and involved three scheduled days around my work schedule. Everyone else would ve fixed it in the same call, with the same guy with materials on their truck. This leads me to believe their annual service a/c guys aren t well trained and/or they want to soak you for all they can get. My top recommendation is Wards.

Charlotte Plumbing – Repair – 10 Photos – Plumbing – 1025 W

#

1025 W Trade St
Charlotte. NC 28202

I would recommend Charlotte Plumbing Repair to everyone in Charlotte. I found a professional plumber I trust for emergencies and for plumbing repair jobs that I don t want to do. My cost for service and repairs are always reasonable and I know exactly what I am getting from the get go. They show up when they say they will. They have been respectful and take the time to explain everything so there are no surprises on the invoice. They are courteous and respectful to you and your property, cleaning up thoroughly after the job. We called Charlotte Plumbing Repair in a plumbing emergency, and they were on the job in just about an hour. Their fast response time saved us from additional damage– that s why we will always call them first.

Quite concerned about stars this company has been receiving. Not only did we receive poor customer service, but we were also faced with the company s inability to comply with its contractual obligations, unsatisfactory and partial performance by its employee (Kevin), and the company s inability to provide relief to damages caused to the property by the employee. This company does not deserve the praise that they have been receiving and this should serve as a warning to those considering using its services. Legal action will be taken in order to recover damages.

These guys are great. Had a stoppage in my house and call them. They came out an hour after I called. Fixed my stoppage and even gave me advice on a future project and told what to do to save a thousand bucks. The price was just right too. They actually fixed a botched job that Roto-Rooter did. If you have a plumbing job and you want the job done right at reasonable price, call these guys. You won t be disappointed.

Did come quickly but we paid dearly. Very over priced for amount and kind of work. Would only call if could not find another plumber. They charged us on a Friday midday as if we had called late in the evening or weekend.

Driver in April crash that killed Hampton doctor and cyclist pleads guilty

McDONOUGH — The driver responsible for the April 2016 collision that resulted in the death of a well-known area doctor and cyclist pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide Tuesday.

Cleven Gerald Ingram, 43, of McDonough pleaded guilty in Henry County State Court to misdemeanor homicide by vehicle and improper passing of a bicycle in the April 6 death of 59-year-old Hampton resident John Harsch.

Ingram was driving in the Hampton area along Lower Woolsey Road on April 6, approaching Ga. Highway 19, when he came upon Harsch and his bicycling training group. Ingram attempted to negotiate a curve and struck Harsch from behind.

Harsch sustained serious injuries in the accident and later died after being transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Three other cyclists were nearby but were not injured during the collision.

Under the plea, Ingram was sentenced to two years probation with 60 days to serve in jail and 80 hours of community service. He must also complete defensive driving school, attend a victim impact panel and pay $1,140 in fines and $350 for court-appointed attorney fees.

Harsch was a founding physician at Southeastern Primary Care Specialists, which has locations in Stockbridge and Fayetteville and has served the community for over 25 years.

“We know we will never replace a great physician like our partner and friend, but we promise to aspire to be more like him—each and every one of us in our own individual ways, as he would want us to,” providers and staff wrote on the practice’s website in remembrance.

On April 15 last year, Harsch was honored with a ghost bike placement for which members of his training group, Southern Crescent Cyclists, and other local cyclists gathered to place a white bicycle bearing the doctor’s name at the site of his death.

Chrome Heating – Air Conditioning – Heating & Air Conditioning #yelp,recommendation,san #francisco,

I called and they responded very fast. Great friendly and professional. I recommend Chrome Heating Air to everyone in my circle.

Two techs came out and gave me conflicting stories but the common theme was I was in need of a whole new system. The first tech said the capacitor that needed to be replaced and did a check to see if it was the compressor instead. The other tech came out replaced the capacitor and then said oh no it s the compressor them pushed a whole new system again. Instead I went with my warranty conpany and haven t had a problem. Follow up to this I had another company come out and let me know when they replaced the capacitor the tech did a bang up job left the battery in its box taped up with electrical tape. A bang up job which he fixed for a fee. All in all wait for the higher end companies or stick with your warranty this place only wants to up sell you to pay dearly for their terrible service

Do not call these people. Rip off! Did not do the job correctly. It was a older man! He said he would send me my receipt never received! Don t know if he started working for himself.

This is the 2nd time they have been to my house and both times they did great work. Very professional.

Michael was the tech and he was amazing. Very professional and he was able to come out right away and get us warm again. I will definitely use them again.
