I would just like to say thank you to Pat and his employees for the excellent service he gave to my Son regarding his oil change. Something was wrong with his car after the oil change and here it was the oil filter they fixed the problem and gave my Son a free oil change to fix the problem. Great Job. Thank you again for your service it is greatly appreciated since I live in Ohio and my Son is in Florida it mean a lot that there are still companies out there that take care of their customers.

These guys are great especially Doug. Called me with a problem about fixing my window and he found a way to fix it. The best.

May 18, 2016 Les S.

Wonderful, even checked my tire pressure! Outgoing, friendly team!

May 03, 2016 Isac R.

Very positive experience. Everything was handled very professionally. I have been taking my vehicles there since 2011 when I moved to Naples and with a brand new car purchase will continue to use this location. I am not one to recommend places and services to others but will certainly speak positively to others about my experiences.

Sep 11, 2015 Janice T.

I came in for an oil change, Marcos was the manager, he was polite, courteous, and very helpful. This is such a refreshing change from the normal, ” I don’t really care” attitude, take good care of him, good employees are very hard to find.

Feb 02, 2015 Miguel R.

I am giving a great compliment to Atiba for his customer service at this location. Atiba always tried to do the best for his customers. even that must of the time he is there by himself. Tuffy as a Company should reward this guy for his work ethics and great service.

Oct 24, 2014 Judy B.

I highly recommend this Tuffy! They were very flexible and accommodating. It took a couple of appointments and a lot of determination to find the issue. But they did! Thank you, Perry and Robert!

Jul 28, 2014 Pamela E.

They were very friendly and helpful. I had an oil change and tire rotation. They found things wrong, but did not pressure me to allow them to fix them. They also told me what to watch for. For example; leaky hoses and such. I would recommend them for an oil change. Also the waiting room is nice, with free coffee, and it was very clean.

May 31, 2014 Chansee L.

I have never been to have my car serviced at a better place. The service was fast, the help were wonderful and price very reasonable. I very highly recommend them!

Mar 20, 2014 Mike B.

Nobody likes to pay for car repairs. This was the best expierence I have ever had. I had the pleasure of working with Geff he is extreamly knowlegeable of cars and provided above and beyond customer service. Geff made my expierience so wonderful I will never go anywhere else.

Oct 11, 2012 Karen H.

I have been using this Tuffy location since 2009, not long after it opened on Vanderbilt Beach Road. My 2003 Mustang will be turning over 100,000 miles this week and it runs like a new car. I cannot say enough to praise the knowledge and professionalism of this staff. Tuffy knows my car probably better than I do and they are helping me to take the very best care possible of my Mustang. THANK YOU.

Mar 21, 2012 Tom J.

I needed a front end alignment for my car. The technican showed me there was a problem with the tires and recommmended replacing them. The manager, offered up several choices and recommended the best tires for the money, and it was far from the most expensive. He was very professional as is his crew. The tires arrived the next day as promised and when I showed up I got right in. I’d recommend this Tuffy Auto Center to everyone who needs quality work done at a fair price. And, if you’re a car guy or gal, the crew here will talk with you about cars as long as you want! It was an enjoyable experience.

Oct 17, 2011 Chad L.

I discovered this Tuffy location a little over a year ago and have had friendly service and quality work every time. They have gone above and beyond for my car time and time again. I would recommend them to anyone.

Welcome to Tuffy Naples (Vanderbilt Beach Rd.)

Reverse IP Lookup – Find Other Web Sites Hosted on a Web

#

Find other sites hosted on a web server by entering a domain or IP address above.

Note. For those of you interested, as of May 2014, my database has grown to over 100 million domain names. I am now offering this domain list for purchase .

A reverse IP domain check takes a domain name or IP address pointing to a web server and searches for other sites known to be hosted on that same web server. Data is gathered from search engine results, which are not guaranteed to be complete. IP-Address.org provides interesting visual reverse IP lookup tool. Knowing the other web sites hosted on a web server is important from both an SEO and web filtering perspective, particularly for those on shared web hosting plans.
More about this tool. Set an API Key.

All web sites are hosted on web servers, which are computers running specialized software that distribute web content as requested. Each web server typically has a single IP address, a unique numeric identifier assigned to no other computer on the entire Internet. Web sites are usually associated with domain names, textual strings like “google.com” that are easier for users to remember than numeric IP addresses. Since HTTP version 1.1, many domains can be hosted on a single IP address.

As of 2003, more than 87% of all active domains names were found to share their IP addresses (i.e. their web servers) with one or more additional domains. More than two thirds of these domains share their server with fifty or more additional domains. Simply put, most web sites are hosted on servers that host many other web sites.

While IP sharing is typically transparent to ordinary users, it may cause complications for both search engine optimization and web site filtering.

Concerning SEO (search engine optimization)

Almost all popular search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc.) increase a web site’s rank based on the number of links pointing towards the web site. In an attempt to falsely inflate a web site’s popularity, an individual may generate hundreds or even thousands of dummy web sites containing little to no content except for links pointing towards a specific domain name. One method that search engines use to detect this type of miscreant behavior is to see if these inter-linking web sites are hosted on the same IP address or IP address range. If the web sites are in the same IP address range, it is highly likely that they are operated by the same individual. Search engines devalue links from web sites pointing to other web sites hosted on the same IP address range.

Conversely, search engines value links from web sites hosted on different IP addresses. An effective search engine optimizer would go further than hosting inter-linking web sites on different IP addresses. They would host the web sites on completely different class C network addresses. They would make sure that all of their domains were registered with different registrars under different names. They would not use the same template on more than one web site. They would erase all traces that their sites are operated by the same individual. They would go through all of this trouble with one goal in mind – to game the search engines in order to bring in more organic traffic.

For most web sites, having a dedicated unique IP address will have little to no effect on search engine rankings. Matt Cutts, the head of Google’s Webspam team, stated:

“If you are an average webmaster and just running a few sites, I wouldn’t worry about them being on the same IP address and I definitely wouldn’t worry about them being on the same server. That’s something that everybody does.”

Concerning web site filtering

With so many sites sharing IP addresses, IP-based filtering efforts are bound to produce “overblocking”, which is the accidental denial of access to web sites that abide by the stated filtering rules. Overblocking occurs when a single website containing some form of adult or explicit content is blocked by its IP address. If this happens, all other sites hosted on that IP address, regardless of their content, will be blocked as well. Unfortunately, research has indicated that it is not atypical for a single web server to host a mixture of sites that are sexually explicit and sites that are not.

Overblocking is a problem known to affect filtering in China, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, and other countries that employ government-mandated country-wide web filtering policies. Additionally, research has indicated that IP address filtering is used by many commercial web filters installed in libraries and schools in the United States. Sometimes Internet services providers are legally required to implement IP address level filtering. For example, under 2002 law, the Attorney General of Pennsylvania ordered Internet service providers in Pennsylvania to disable access to sites found to offer child pornography. Most providers receiving such orders reportedly use router-level filtering to disable access to the affected IP addresses, even though those IP addresses host scores of additional web sites without child pornography.

To avoid any of the potential problems related with IP address sharing, it is best to acquire a unique IP address for your web site. Contact your web host and tell them you would like your own unique IP address. Be sure to let them know you would like a fresh IP address, not a recycled one. Web hosts will often reuse IP addresses that spammers have previously blacklisted. You may need to speak with several individuals until you can find a technician who can understand your request. Acquiring a unique IP address for your web site can cost anywhere from $25 to $100 for an initial setup fee, and $2 to $25 per month thereafter.

The tool currently does not support sites only using IPv6 addresses.

CS-Script – The C# Script Engine

CS-Script is now fully supported by Notepad++ (intellisense, execution. )

CS-Script is a CLR (Common Language Runtime) based scripting system which uses ECMA-compliant C# as a programming language. CS-Script currently targets Microsoft implementation of CLR (.NET 2.0/3.0/3.5/4.0/4.5) with full support on Mono.

CS-Script is an open-source (MIT) initiative that is distributed under the license agreement, which can be found here.

CS-Script combines the power and richness of C# and FCL with the flexibility of a scripting system. CS-Script can be useful for system and network administrators, developers and testers. For any one who needs an automation for solving variety of programming tasks.

CS-Script has started as an article at CodeProject but quickly it has grown past the scale of a single publication. Currently it is used world wide for extending the applications functionality with scripting and as a general purpose scripting environment. It is used by both enthusiasts and by professional programmers. It found its way to non-profit organizations (e.g. educational institutes) as well as to commercial organizations. These are just a few examples: MediaPortal. FlashDevelop. K2 API. SF.net (“WinTin”), BonSAI. AyaNova (service management software).

The main idea of CS-Script is to allow “plain vanilla” C# code execution from both command-prompt and form any CLR application hosting the script engine.

CS-Script comes with the full integration with Visual Studio as well as with Notepad++. CSScript.Npp plugin for Notepad++ converts this great people’s editor into a full scale CS-Script IDE with Intellisense, execution and even debugging support.

C. Execution of the script by “aligning” it to the appropriate interface (DuckTyping).
Important aspect of such hosting model that the script execution is completely typesafe and IDEs like VisualStudio can provide full Intellisense support:

1. Script HelloScript.cs

2. Complete script hosting code

public interface IScript
<
void Hello(string greeting);
>

class Host
<
static void Main()
<
IScript script = CSScript.Evaluator .LoadFile IScript ( “HelloScript.cs” ) ;

script.Hello( “Hi there. ” );
>
>
Note practicaly all code above is available in CodeDOM version. Just replace ‘CSScript.Eveluator’ with ‘CSScript’ and all calls will be redirected to CodeDOM API (more details here ).

CS-Script comes with the complete integration with MS Visual Studio 2010 ( CS-Script Visual Studio Tools ). Because of the clever loading model CLR Debuggers do not differentiate between static and dynamic code (script). You can debug your script with the same debugger as your host application.

CS-Script can be hosted in NAnt environment. You can execute of both script files and embedded C# code (CDATA) from NAnt build scripts. The unrestricted bi-directional data exchange between NAnt runtime and CS-Script script code (e.g. C# code) can be achieved due to the advanced CS-Script hosting architecture.

CS-Script also brings you Dynamic Code Generation. The concept, which allows you to define C++ style macros in C#.

CS-Script comes with the full set of comprehensive documentation ( tutorials, help in both CHM and PDF format, API reference guide ).

Why CS-Script? – read about the difference between CS-Script and other CLR based scripting solutions. This is what you need to know before making a decision on using the CS-Script.

Simple deployment approach: just bring both script and engine file (about 100 K size) on the system that has .NET runtime installed and script can be run.

Portability: Scripts can be run on any system, which has CLR installed (including Mono).

Base language is a truly OO language: CS-Script uses full featured C# and also supports VB.NET, C++/CLI and J#.

All .NET functionality is available (FCL, COM Interop, Remoting, WPF, WCF etc.).

Easily available Debugger and rich IDE (MS .NET Visual Studio or third-party IDEs).

Execution model within the script is the same as for any .NET application: static void Main().

Any script can be easily converted into application and vice versa.

Optimised interpretation: interpretation of any statement in the script is done only once even if the statement is frequently used throughout the code.

Script language is type safe (strongly typed): strong typing is a luxury not available for the most of the scripting languages.

All SW development tasks can be done in the same language.

GUI development for script application becomes easy.

Extensibility: scripting system can be extended by using new assemblies written in any .NET languages or COM components.

Script hosting: functionality of any CLR application can be extended with scripting.

2016 Chevrolet Malibu vs. 2016 Honda Accord, 2016 Mazda 6, 2016 Toyota Camry

From the April 2016 issue

Let s start the proceedings with a couple of toasts. First, here s to the ancient Chumash Indians, the name of whose little creekside California hamlet of Humaliwo got boiled down by the tongues of the conquering Spanish into the word Malibu. And here s to the widow Rhoda May Knight Rindge, or May to her friends. The last owner of the 17,000-acre Rancho Malibu, she battled the burgeoning Los Angeles County to stop its plans for a coastal road through her property. But back in 1919, L.A. got what L.A. wanted, and the Pacific Coast Highway was born as the Roosevelt Highway. Luckily, Rindge did not live to see the banks of her beloved Malibu Creek developed with outlets for Starbucks and Yogasmoga. Nor, indeed, did she live to see the mid-size Chevy Chevelle that took the rancho s name in 1964.

Why all the fuss over Malibu in this test of four mid-size sedans? No particular reason, except that we decided to take the new Malibu and its most formidable competitors to Rindge s old, sunny seaside homestead, where the miles of good road are today outnumbered only by the suntanned utopians carrying their teacup Maltipoos.

Radically redesigned this year, the Chevy Maltipoo, er, Malibu has its name written on the front doors in widely spaced movie-theater-marquis letters, as if a David Lean epic is about to open. To keep the prices real, we opted for the base engines on all the cars in this test. While the others here have conventionally breathing four-cylinder engines displacing 2.4 to 2.5 liters, the Malibu goes turbo right off the bat with a blown 1.5-liter. Our LT is a couple of steps up from the bottom, and as equipped is the most expensive car here at $27,940. However, knock off the $1150 sunroof that we opened just once, to make sure it did open, and the Malibu would be the second-cheapest car in this test.

We re always extolling the Honda Accord. and its near-perennial status as a 10Best winner ensures its place in this test as the high castle for everyone else to throw rocks at. The version to buy is the Sport manual, but as this is a slush-only test, we took this opportunity to live for a while with the optional continuously variable transmission. A CVT is as far as you can possibly get from a manual unless your car has hydrostatic drive. The Accord doesn t, but it does offer a Sensing package with a bunch of anti-collision systems that add a grand to the price. Even so, at $26,900, this Accord Sport represents the second-lowest price.

Mazda s 6 is always a sales underdog, a brand-B pick that is still built in Japan and still living in the shadows of giants. More than seven Toyota Camrys get sold for every Mazda 6. But the 6 is a former comparo winner and 10Best awardee. If the Malibu is to earn space on the zestier side of the family-car menu, it s the 6 that it will have to contend with. The current 6 debuted in 2014 but got an update for 2016 that includes a fancier interior. Of the three trim levels available, our Touring is the middle one, with a 184-hp 2.5-liter four and a six-speed automatic. Our sleek test car arrived with just one option: $300 Soul Red paint.

And speaking of the big C, here comes the sales champ, natty in a swish blue robe and rolling on 18-inch aluminum wheels with black accents. This Lawrence Welk of Toyota Camrys ouch, okay, maybe this Lady Gaga of Camrys is an SE, with the wheels, Blue Streak Metallic paint, and blue seats and blue-glowing gauges (you gotta really like blue) that are all tossed in with the $1875 Special Edition package. If you don t fancy blue, pearl white is also available. Our one option, an entertainment-and-navigation suite, costs $525.

Thus, the Malibu must contend with two market giants in the Accord and Camry and a left-field challenger in the 6. The hugely competitive mid-size segment is home to scores of other entries. But we ve bypassed the Sweet 16 and gone straight to the Final Four. Some of the slighted competitors will get a chance in the future to face the winner of this comparo, so we d better get on with the business of picking one.

Search Engine Optimization

Definition:The process of increasing the amount of visitors to a website by ranking high in the search results of a search engine .

If you want your online business to be successful, it’s a good idea to optimize your site on a regular basis to make sure it’s got a good position in the web’s top search engines. And it’s important to keep on top of the latest developments in the search engine industry and what key tactics you should–and shouldn’t–use to optimize your site to make sure it gets a high ranking with all the major search engines.

For the past few years, the major search engines have been preparing to square off against each other and battle it out for the industry’s top spot. Google has been No. 1 for a while now, with Yahoo! and MSN coming in at numbers two and three. Keep in mind, however, that Google and Yahoo! power many of the smaller search engines. For example, Google powers the free listings featured on AOL and Netscape, plus the paid listings featured on AOL, Netscape, Ask Jeeves, HotBot, Teoma and Lycos. Yahoo! powers free listings featured on AltaVista, AllTheWeb and HotBot, plus the paid listings on MSN, AltaVista and AllTheWeb.

Search engines frequently change the algorithms they use to rank sites. They don’t want unscrupulous site owners manipulating their indexing methods in order to get high rankings. By doing so, they damage the integrity of free search. As soon as the search engines become aware of a trick being used by “search engine spammers” to boost their site ranking, they figure out a way to catch them.

The search engines don’t want to be manipulated by marketers. They want to provide the best unbiased results possible for any given search–or they’ll lose users. That’s why they need to change their algorithms so frequently-to stay ahead of the tricks people use to get top rankings.

So be careful! You don’t want to catch yourself employing a great strategy promoted by a marketing “expert,” only to find out it’s a tactic the search engines hate! That could get you booted off their listings in no time flat. Let’s take a look at what exactly the search engines are looking for when indexing sites–and what they’ll punish you for.

The Dos
There are still a lot of legitimate ways you can optimize your site to generate or maintain a high ranking without angering the search engines and causing them to drop you from their list. Here are some of the best things you can to do ensure your site has a high ranking:

1. Ask relevant sites to link to your site. In the past, scoring a high ranking with a search engine was all about positioning your keywords in “prime real estate” positions in your text and site coding. All that has changed, however, because these days, links are king.

Search engines place a huge amount of importance on the number of sites that link to yours. But it’s not just the quantity of links that matter, it’s also the quality. Search engines look at how relevant the links are, that is, how much the content of the linking site has in common with the content on your site. The more relevant, the better.

Search engines also look at how important the linking site is. What kind of online presence does it have? How much traffic does it get? For example, your site will get a higher ranking if it’s linked to by sites such as BBC.com or nationalgeographic.com instead of, say, the personal homepage of your friend’s neighbor’s kid.

2. Pay attention to keyword inclusion and placement. Keywords may no longer be the sole determining factor of a site’s ranking, but they’re still pretty important. The most useful places to include them are:

  • In your domain name–only make sure your keywords are in the root of your URL, not the stem. For example, if your main keyword phrase is “cell phones,” try to get a domain name such as “www.cell-phones.com” instead of “www.mobileusa.com/cell-phones.” Some search engines will actually penalize sites for including key words in the stem of a URL.
  • In the title tags in your source code
  • In the meta description of your site. This is much less important than it used to be, but it can’t hurt.
  • In your meta keyword tags

And be sure you only include relevant keywords. Search engines will penalize you if you try to sneak in keywords that have nothing to do with the content of your site.

3. Create content-rich information pages to direct traffic to your site. An easy way to boost the number of pages that link to your site is to create some pages yourself. However, you have to make sure these pages contain valuable content that provides people with useful information. Search engines hate “pointer pages” that have no content and exist only to add to the number of links pointing to a site.

Be sure the information relates to the content on your site and has your keywords placed in advantageous positions. This will boost the ranking of your pages with the search engines and ensure they get lots of traffic-which they can then redirect to your site.

4. Submit your site to online directories. Be sure to submit your site to important directories such as Yahoo. the Open Directory Project and About.com, as well as smaller directories. Your listing on these directories will help your ranking with the major search engines.

5. Multiply and conquer. Create a community of related sites that link to each other. Why stop at only one information page? The more content-rich sites that point to your site, the better.

You can also boost the number of links that point to your site by dividing it into several separate sites that all link to each other. This works especially well if you sell a number of different products or services. If you build a different site to focus on each of your products and services, then you can also concentrate the use of specific keyword phrases on each site. That’s another great way to boost your search engine ranking.

The Don’ts
Now that we’ve covered the dos, here come the don’ts. Although these questionable tactics have worked well in the past, the search engines absolutely hate them. If they catch you using any of these tricks, they may go so far as to drop you from their listings.

1. Beware of irrelevant links. Yes, it’s a good idea to get a lot of different links pointing to your site, but the search engines only like relevant links. If they find sites that have nothing in common with the content on your site linked to your Web site, they’ll lower your relevancy rating.

2. Beware of irrelevant keywords. Search engines hate finding irrelevant keywords on your site-especially in your meta tags. If they catch you using keywords that have nothing to do with the actual content of your site, they’ll penalize you for it.

3. Don’t “keyword stuff” your meta tags. In the past, people used to repeat their keywords in their meta tags over and over again. This used to get them a high ranking with the search engines-but not any more. Search engines are on to this trick and will punish you for it by dropping your ranking.

4. Don’t create “link farms.” Link farms are the evil cousins of the information pages we discussed above. In the past, some spammers used to build multiple “doorway” sites that existed only to multiply the number of links pointing to their sites. Unlike content-rich information pages, these doorway pages would usually only include a string of keyword terms that would earn them a high ranking with the search engines. The search engines have caught on to this tactic, however, and will drop you from their listings if they find you using it.

5. Avoid “free for all” link pages. Don’t bother placing links to your site on pages where everyone and their cousin is invited to put up a link. Such sites have extremely low relevancy ratings and will cost you points with the search engines.
