Loved by non-photographers too, we seek out the world’s most extraordinary wildlife, landscape and cultural experiences then tour small groups there in comfort, providing unique access away from the crowds with exclusive charter of ships, aircraft, vehicles and remote lodges for not only the most incredible, unhurried photography opportunities on Earth, but also an unforgettable holiday. I love to travel, but I hate being stuck with loads of other people (especially when we’ve got nothing in common), being taken to the regular, over-crowded tourist attractions or wasting time in an amazing country just relaxing by some pool. I want to get the most out of my holidays – I want to see as many different animals as I can, I want to travel through different landscapes and be shown hidden gems off the beaten path, I want to experience the culture, taste the food, meet new friends with similar interests, enjoy some luxury and importantly, I want to have the time to take some beautiful and unique photos of it all. This is what we strive for with our photography tours and workshops.

It’s not enough for me to spot a distant lion, tick it off and move on – I wan’t to have the option to try and get closer, on the correct side for best lighting and even wait for him to lift his head and stare directly down the barrel of my camera lens for a great photo – or to move on when I’m done – I want flexibility. I want the inside tips for the best photo location to be ready when the sun rises over the horizon and spills across the bay onto those boulders – and if I can’t quite get my photo to work, it’d be awesome to have a friendly pro-photographer right there to offer advice (not one who’ll stand in front of me to get the best shot themselves!). If there’s a seal colony out on an island nearby, then I’d want to charter a boat tour out there just with my friends onboard so we can spend as much or as little time as we want to get the photos without being crowded on a regular sight-seeing tour. If the seal colony was a bit of a tourist attraction on a local beach then I’d want to wait for the crowds to leave, and go down onto the beach after hours – just us as a small group, and a private ranger guide to photograph them at our leisure in beautiful evening lighting.

You don’t even need to be a photographer to love this style of holiday – who wouldn’t like a bit of luxury and a bit of extra patience from their tour leaders, or to be given the opportunity to fly over lakes covered in pink flamingos in Africa in a doors-off plane or over a beautiful coastline in a doors-off helicopter for some epic views? Stay on a private island, learn some new skills with your photography, make some new friends and have an unforgettable, unique holiday – all at the same time! Sound good? Who is Chris Bray ?

Chris grew up sailing around the world then leading world-first expeditions across the arctic before becoming an award-winning Australian Geographic photographer, Lowepro ambassador and Canon’s Australian ambassador for five years. Chris’s work has appeared in National Geographic and Discovery Channel along with Australian Geographic, TIME Magazine etc. He’s also an accomplished writer, with feature articles published around the world and even a successful book ‘The 1000 Hour Day ‘ (now an award-winning documentary ‘The Crossing’), sits on the advisory committee for The Australian Geographic Society and is founder and CEO of Conservation United. crowd-funding the world’s critical conservation projects. Chris is also an International Fellow of ‘The Explorers Club ‘ and has been chairman of their Australia and New Zealand chapter.

Chris and his wife Jess are also keen high-latitude sailors, recently becoming the first people to sail a junk-rig boat through the Northwest Passage over the arctic, on their little 29-foot wooden sailboat ‘Teleport ‘. Australian Geographic Society’s ‘Young Adventurer of the Year’ in 2004 for a Tasmanian wilderness hike, Chris has also been awarded their ‘Spirit of Adventure’ medal in 2009.

Master of Fine Arts

The MFA is the highest degree in the creative practice of visual art.

An artist’s studio practice is best learned through self-design and execution. While we emphasize fostering private creative roles, our practice-based, multidisciplinary program also focuses on marketing your work in today’s creative professional fields. In our two-year, 60-hour curriculum of project-based thinking, you’ll design, create and explain your work. In other words: You’re the artist, it’s your vision, and it’s up to you to communicate it.

MFA project proposals can be based in painting, drawing, photography, animation, sculpture, video, interactive design, printmaking, illustration, installation, glass, ceramics and design.

As an MFA student, you’ll work with select faculty who provide one-on-one feedback. They will push and challenge you as part of a community that is supportive and rigorous, demanding and compassionate. You’ll meet weekly in the Graduate Seminar for group critiques with your faculty and peers. Our program features small class sizes, accepting only nine to 15 students per year. To gain exposure and insight from industry professionals, you’ll also work with an off-campus mentor or participate in a practicum. The degree concludes with a thesis project, written thesis paper and oral defense.

MFA FACILITIES

We’ve built an environment to fuel collaboration, experimentation and creation.

The CCAD MFA program is located on the second and third floors of CCAD’s Design Studios on Broad, a renovated early-20th-century auto dealership near downtown Columbus. The 13,700-square-foot graduate facility includes individual student studios, faculty offices, a lounge and an exhibition space. You’ll also have access to CCAD’s library, plus many labs, shops, computer complexes, darkrooms and studios.

MENTORSHIP EXPERIENCE

Your education isn’t limited to what happens in our classrooms in Columbus. As a graduate student, you’ll participate in an Off-Campus Mentorship Experience where you define what “Off-Campus” means to you. This could mean a residency in Ireland, a three-week endeavor at the Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle or working with a nonprofit just down the street. Maybe you’re looking to create a virtual mentorship with an internationally acclaimed artist overseas. Meant to be complementary to your CCAD education, this exposure to an outside business, community and/or cultural leader will be influential as you dive into a greater depth of understanding yourself as an artist. Your mentor is a resource for developing your professional skills, finding pathways to your desired career and more.

Gabri’s Lounge Restaurant is a 60 seat fine-dining restaurant with a 20 seat lounge. We focus on our New American-Swedish menu with a touch of Asian influence.

We will be located in the booming, and rapidly expanding, borough of Long Branch, New Jersey ‘on the shore.’

The outlook for the future of Long Branch is promising. Developers are recreating a $150 million first-class resort project. The old pier will be rebuilt with ferry service to Manhattan, New York City, beach cabanas, boardwalk and a bike path over a total of 25 acres. There will be 100,000 sq. ft. of commercial space, and over 700 residential units with condo and townhouses ranging from $200,000-$500,000; rentals from $1000-$2,500 a month, and a two-tier garage. The combination of these elements will provide the city with a year-round economy.

The area is in need of a warm and friendly place with excellent food. A place where you always know you will get the best of everything. Gabri’s Lounge Restaurant will feature a cozy dining room and an elegant lounge. Comfortable furnishings and decor with soothing warm tones. The lounge has comfy couches and antique love seats with a softly lit bar. It will be the perfect place to stop in for a bite to eat, for a drink or for a small business meeting. Now customers can leave it to pros and get the finest, most memorable party or dinner ever. We have years of experience in the catering business and know what an important client wants and needs. We will have a large International menu for customers to select from, and we will offer full catering service providing everything from table settings to the dessert. We anticipate our total sales allocation to be 85% restaurant sales and 15% catering sales. The combined cost of sales will be 33% producing a gross profit of 67% on total sales.

Most important to us is our financial success and we believe this will be achieved by offering high-quality service and excellent food with an interesting twist. We have created financial projections based on our experience and knowledge of the area. Gabri’s Lounge Restaurant is a 60 seat fine-dining restaurant with a 20 seat lounge. We focus on our New American-Swedish menu with a touch of Asian influence.

The outlook for the future of Long Branch is promising. Developers are recreating a $150 million first-class resort project. The old pier will be rebuilt with ferry service to Manhattan, New York City, beach cabanas, boardwalk and a bike path over a total of 25 acres. There will be 100,000 sq. ft. of commercial space, and over 700 residential units with condo and townhouses ranging from $200,000-$500,000; rentals from $1000-$2,500 a month, and a two-tier garage. The combination of these elements will provide the city with a year-round economy.

The area is in need of a warm and friendly place with excellent food. A place where you always know you will get the best of everything. Gabri’s Lounge Restaurant will feature a cozy dining room and an elegant lounge. Comfortable furnishings and decor with soothing warm tones. The lounge has comfy couches and antique love seats with a softly lit bar. It will be the perfect place to stop in for a bite to eat, for a drink or for a small business meeting.
