University Inn & Suites Tallahassee

The location is perfect, although my husband did complain about the noise from the nearby bars. There is good parking and it is a perfect place to start a tour of the FSU campus. It is a good place to spend 1 night for a low price. They were able to find us a non-smoking room after initially booking us a smoking room. They were helpful and kind. The room is outdated, but clean.

Comfortable beds, but that s about it

First, the good stuff:

My son and I stayed here for one night.

First, the good stuff:
The beds were comfortable, and the room was quiet, once the door was shut.

Now, the other stuff:
The first impression was poor. The guy at the front desk (once he showed up) was apparently having a bad day and wanted to spread the feeling.
The surface of the toilet seat delaminating. How do they ensure its cleanliness?
There was a considerable amount of grime in the bottom of the shower.
There was a thick layer of dirt on the window sill. While this is not a huge issue by itself, it does show a careless approach to cleaning.
The TV belongs in a museum. No joke!
The wifi was advertised as free. That’s technically true, but is was so unbelievably slow that is was unusable. We ended up using my cell-phone’s data.
We were supplied with one very thin small piece of soap. I applaud efforts to cut down on waste, but this was ridiculous.

And the final impressions:
This seemed to me to be a place where cost-cutting had gone to extremes. However, interestingly, the same person showed up to the front desk when we were leaving. He was quite friendly, so maybe the day before just was a bad day for him.

I stayed at this hotel for a FSU game. It is literally adjacent to campus and perfect it that is your goal. It is built into a side of a hill, and I’m not sure if there is an elevator if you have a cane or wheelchair. The room was basic, quiet, and clean, but has had hard use. There is a McDonald’s across the street. Hotel prices in this area can skyrocket for no logical reason ($200-300/night). This is a good choice if that happens.

Okay, very loud

Robin L (34 reviews)

We went for fsu orientation and stayed here because it was closest to out daughters dorm. It was okay for a cheap rate, clean room, no breakfast. We went on a wed and a riot broke out across the street that had to be broken up by police, so not the best area, but overall fine.

Cheap Hotel, you get what you pay for in this hotel

Jennifer A (37 reviews)

My room was clean the ceiling was damaged badly and had mold on it from what appears to be a leak in the room above. It was cheap and that was what I was looking for when I booked it so I got what I paid for.

Everything I needed at a great price–close to hospital (for visiting my friend), on campus for security, walk to variety of eateries, short drive to shopping, parking space, clean, room smelled fresh good! My trip was unexpected so really appreciated the microwave, fridge, iron board, big TV, comfy bed, full size tub/shower, toiletries in bathroom.

best place to stay

Dunedin5 (2 reviews)

perfect location for all FSU activities – clean rooms and great manager. Close access to bars and restaurants. Perfect for game day stay. Closest hotel to all activities. Good parking and donut shop next door. Manager Neal goes over and above serving needs of visitors and guests.

I would just like to say thank you to Pat and his employees for the excellent service he gave to my Son regarding his oil change. Something was wrong with his car after the oil change and here it was the oil filter they fixed the problem and gave my Son a free oil change to fix the problem. Great Job. Thank you again for your service it is greatly appreciated since I live in Ohio and my Son is in Florida it mean a lot that there are still companies out there that take care of their customers.

May 03, 2016 Isac R.

Very positive experience. Everything was handled very professionally. I have been taking my vehicles there since 2011 when I moved to Naples and with a brand new car purchase will continue to use this location. I am not one to recommend places and services to others but will certainly speak positively to others about my experiences.

I came in for an oil change, Marcos was the manager, he was polite, courteous, and very helpful. This is such a refreshing change from the normal, ” I don’t really care” attitude, take good care of him, good employees are very hard to find.

I am giving a great compliment to Atiba for his customer service at this location. Atiba always tried to do the best for his customers. even that must of the time he is there by himself. Tuffy as a Company should reward this guy for his work ethics and great service.

I highly recommend this Tuffy! They were very flexible and accommodating. It took a couple of appointments and a lot of determination to find the issue. But they did! Thank you, Perry and Robert!

Jul 28, 2014 Pamela E.

They were very friendly and helpful. I had an oil change and tire rotation. They found things wrong, but did not pressure me to allow them to fix them. They also told me what to watch for. For example; leaky hoses and such. I would recommend them for an oil change. Also the waiting room is nice, with free coffee, and it was very clean.

I have been using this Tuffy location since 2009, not long after it opened on Vanderbilt Beach Road. My 2003 Mustang will be turning over 100,000 miles this week and it runs like a new car. I cannot say enough to praise the knowledge and professionalism of this staff. Tuffy knows my car probably better than I do and they are helping me to take the very best care possible of my Mustang. THANK YOU.

Mar 21, 2012 Tom J.

I needed a front end alignment for my car. The technican showed me there was a problem with the tires and recommmended replacing them. The manager, offered up several choices and recommended the best tires for the money, and it was far from the most expensive. He was very professional as is his crew. The tires arrived the next day as promised and when I showed up I got right in. I’d recommend this Tuffy Auto Center to everyone who needs quality work done at a fair price. And, if you’re a car guy or gal, the crew here will talk with you about cars as long as you want! It was an enjoyable experience.

Oct 17, 2011 Chad L.

I discovered this Tuffy location a little over a year ago and have had friendly service and quality work every time. They have gone above and beyond for my car time and time again. I would recommend them to anyone.

Broward Impact is an industry leader in sales and has an expert installation team, Meadors Construction Group, owned and operated by Broward Impact with over 35 years of experience. Broward Impact provides custom window solutions for both commercial and residential construction, specializing in commercial construction, entrances, windows, window walls, curtain walls, sliding glass doors, as well as mirrors, frameless shower enclosures, interior glass partitions, bullet resistant glass, laminated glass and tempered glass.

Window and door products that we represent from our manufacturers are fabricated, assembled and glazed in a controlled environment in order to preserve the product performance. Job site glazing can be a very unpredictable situation with construction debris, weather, limited supplies and available work area all left up to chance. Be assured that the product you order is glazed by a professional and under the most favorable conditions. Less site preparation saves you time and money.

Water intrusion affects product operation, creates unfavorable conditions for tenants and can be a service nightmare. With most common internally drained systems, a certain amount of water is allowed to infiltrate the unit, and then it is channeled back out of the unit. Our products have eliminated the draining system altogether with their external wet seal engineering. The unit is sealed with a wet silicone seal, and the glazing leg is filled with a structural silicone to prevent any water infiltration.

Accessibility is crucial in a commercial environment. The locking and push/pull hardware is appropriately positioned to meet the necessary requirements of ADA compliance. In addition, the door opening width, closer, opening force, handles and locks are all compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Our product offering is tested to meet the highest design loads air and water infiltration standards, including Miami-Dade, AAMA, ASTM and the Florida Building Code.

Interlayers are of the highest performing on the market for full protection-DuPont, SentryGlas Plus (SGP), Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) are used exclusively on all products we carry.

Our products also have some of the strongest aluminum frames available to prevent bending during installation or rattling and pulling with use.

State Exam for Florida Home Inspector License (proctored, closed-book) #florida #home #inspector

#

State Exam for Florida Home Inspector License (proctored, closed-book)

Exam Categories and % Minimums:

The proctored state examination covers the following categories: General; Plumbing; Roofing; Electrical; Heating Cooling; Structure; Exterior; Interior; Insulation Ventilation; Fireplace Chimney; Wood Destroying; Environment; Ethics; Safety; Inspection Methods; Reporting; and Professional Practice.

If an examinee fails in one category by answering less than 50% of the questions in that category correctly, he/she will receive a failing score for the entire examination. An examinee must receive an 80% or greater in all exam categories to pass the entire exam.

120 Exam Questions and 60 Minutes:

The exam consists of 120 questions that are drawn randomly from a larger pool of more than 360 questions. The examinee has sixty (60) minutes to complete the exam. It is proctored. It is closed-book. The exam is different every time anyone takes it with the 120 questions being randomly generated, and the order of the possible answers sorted randomly.

Not only are the questions exam weighted, the answers are as well, in the sense that an exam taker is penalized severely (in terms of score) for incorrectly answering questions that indicate that he/she could cause physical harm to the public, but not greatly rewarded (in terms of score) for correctly answering such questions.

Proctored Test Centers:

The InterNACHI Proctored Test Centers will offer examinees testing in a controlled, proctored environment.

Proctors will verify an examiner’s photo identification as specified by InterNACHI by checking to see that the signature and photo match the person presenting the identification. The Proctor will actively monitor the testing room, the examinee, and test content.

The Proctor will provide a quiet environment with acceptable test-taking conditions. The room will be dedicated to testing during the scheduled session and will have controlled access. Appropriate lighting, temperature control, and noise restrictions will be considered, including ADA special requirements. Proctors will be aware of and implement the Professional Proctoring Standards and Guidelines to the best of their ability.

The Proctor will specify to the examinee all restrictions on testing materials, including books, notes, instruments, and other aids. This is NOT an open book exam. It is closed-book, which means that the only information you may rely on during the exam session is your brain. InterNACHI will implement restrictions and controls on the software used to deliver the tests and will supply the Proctor with minimum hardware configurations, necessary usernames and passwords, and all other pertinent instructions prior to the day of the examination.

Top Online Nursing Degrees in Florida Best FL LPN RN BSN –

Florida Nursing Schools and Resources

Once upon a time the educational track to a nursing degree was narrow and certainly not one pursued by just anyone. The nursing career is still not pursued by just anyone, but the means by which you earn a nursing degree are now much more streamlined and accessible. In Florida, as in nearly every other state, hospitals continue to come up short on nurses. The contributing factors are numerous, but are helping drive a growing nursing shortage.

Within the state you may choose from a few dozen campus-based accredited schools of nursing. Many of these have also added on equally good online or blended degree programs, again ensuring that all types of prospective students have the opportunity to earn a nursing degree.

Major metro areas in Florida are home to multiple large hospitals. These diverse healthcare facilities employ hundreds of RNs and LPNs and many continue to need even higher volumes of nurses. Some still are associated with university medical and nursing programs. Major medical centers include Shands, Tampa General, and Florida Hospital. Large hospitals feature all medical specialties, and in so doing also employ a wide cross section of nurses.

But smaller communities also require nurses in busy medical centers of their own, nursing homes, education, public health, and in corporate healthcare.

State Board of Nursing Resources

The Florida Board of Nursing website provides new RN and LPN grads as well as experienced nurses with important information relative to state nursing practice:

  • RN and LPN licensure and renewal in FL
  • Nursing scope of practice
  • Continuing Education requirements for FL nurses

Financial Incentives in FL for Student Nurses

With a constant shortage of nurses you’ll often find various types of state-based incentive programs that can help you pay for your nursing education:

  • Florida’s Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program was designed to offset perpetual state nursing shortages in all facilities. However, eligible candidates must in the short term be willing to work in a medically underserved facility in exchange for loan forgiveness. Program welcomes RNs, LPNs, and Registered Nurse Practitioners. Possible $16,000 in loan repayment per program candidate.
  • Florida Nurses Association maintains an association funded foundation out of which a few dozen small scholarships and grants are meted out to members for education, research, and even emergency financial aid.

Future Outlook for Early Childhood Education Professionals

As you can see, there is quite a wide variety among salary rates for different types of employment positions within the early childhood education area. There is also a current need for many new applicants in this field of educational work. According to The Bureau of Labor Statistics, there has been an increase of at least 43% in the numbers of new preschool students over the last 20 years in the U.S. This has, of course, led to greater demand for teachers, counselors, specialists and administrators. By the year 2019, job availability for childhood educators is expected to rise by approximately 18%, the largest predicted increase in any area of education. As more and more parents understand and appreciate the value of enrolling their children in nursery, day care, preschool and special interest educational programs, this percentage is likely to continue increasing on an annual basis.

This job availability offers much encouragement to graduates of various degree programs in the early childhood education field as well as to young students in education now deciding on their major focus of study. Starting salary rates are increasing steadily with the overall average of good jobs at the entry level paying around $85,000 to $90,000 for many positions. Advancements in both salary rate and job level status often occur fairly rapidly, too, due to the continuous efforts of educational research and planning experts to raise child educational achievement bars to meet the ever-increasing extent of new information and training methods available.

Graduating college and university students with Doctorate of Philosophy degrees in early childhood education have myriad possibilities for very rewarding and lucrative professional employment in the field. Along with the wide variety of top-level administrative, counseling and teaching positions available to them, there are numerous jobs at high pay rates within educational research and development organizations, foundations, governmental agencies, and college and university departments. At the same time, graduates with Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees can easily acquire jobs as teachers, counselors, special training experts, and in early educational management.

It is truly encouraging and heartwarming to realize this current upward rise in good employment is available for well qualified early childhood education professionals in the United States. State Farm Wants to Increase Homeowners Business in Florida a Bit

March 6, 2014 by Michael Adams

One of Florida s largest homeowner insurers has announced it will once again begin writing new business in the state, just several years after canceling a substantial portion of its book of business.

State Farm Florida announced it has plans to offer new homeowners and renters policies for the first time since 2009.

State Farm Florida Spokesperson Michal Brower said that while the insurer is unable to supply specific details, the new homeowners policies would be offered to current State Farm customers who are moving within the state, State Farm customers moving to Florida from other states, as well as some new customers.

While limited in scope, this is a positive step that may offer State Farm customers additional opportunities to purchase homeowners and renters coverage, said Brower.

Brower said that the insurer has no current plans to offer additional coverage, but says the insurer will continue to examine Florida s market.

We recognize the unique challenges of the Florida insurance market and continually evaluate and monitor our ongoing efforts to responsible manage our growth in Florida, he said.

According to the state s Office of Insurance Regulation, State Farm had 400,000 policies in force in the state as of September 2013.

State Farm Florida stopped writing new property business in 2009 and sought a statewide average 47 percent increase. At the time, the insurer said the increase was needed given the losses from Hurricane Wilma in 2005 and hurricanes Ivan and Frances in 2004.

State Farm Florida put regulators on notice that it would exit the state entirely unless the rate increase was granted.

To avoid that scenario, regulators in 2010 signed-off on a plan that granted State Farm Florida a 14.8 percent rate hike with the proviso that the insurer could cancel 125,000 homeowners and commercial residential policies.

My experience at Lake Haven definitely change my life! After over 30 years of drinking with several failed attempts at quitting, I never dreamed I could live a life of sobriety. The knowledgeable, loving, caring, staff gave me the tools I need and showed me how to use them to be sober and happy. As Lenny says, they loved me until I learned how to love myself! I am forever indebted to all the gang at Lake Haven for helping this miracle happen! I hope to further my education and make a career of helping others the way these folks helped me!

WOW. I literally got so excited when Craig asked me to tell of my experience at Lake Haven. Let me start by saying YES when I first got to Lake Haven I was a MESS, I was scared to death and even felt that I didn’t fit in. I stuck it out and made it through day one, then day two. Day two is when Lenny walked up to me and said “just remember that you are here for you and not the people around you”. At that point I let go and gave Lake Haven a Chance. The facility is awesome, the grounds are beautiful, and talk about an AWESOME staff, well they have them. Most of the techs there at Lake Haven have been in your shoes and really understand what you are going through, they really care and want you to talk to them and be as comfortable as you can be. The Case Management Team (TJ and Emily) have your back, and are more than ready to help you get things back home situated so that you can focus on recovery and getting better. The therapists work so hard for you and try to lead you in the right direction. Kim and Craig are so devoted to the New Life program. Michelle, Sean, and Lucy are also there to guide you in the right direction and truly want you to succeed in every aspect of your life Today I am home in Virginia, and the staff has not just written me off as a number that used to be at Lake Haven. I get phone calls, text and emails on a regular basis, just to ask how I am doing. I am part of the Alumni, even being so far away. I have linked into the Facebook page and I too feel comfortable calling or texting any of the staff if I get in a situation where I need support. I am so grateful that God lead me to Lake Haven and the New Life program. There are several different tracts that you can consider. The spiritual program (New Life) was right for me, as it opened my eyes and brought me to a better place in my life. Words cannot express my gratitude to Lake Haven, and the people there. God bless and join us on the road to recovery.

I want to thank everyone who works at LakeHaven Recovery Center. Our son Joe was just home for a few days and it was awesome to see him progressing and finding his way. Special Thanks to Kim, Asia, Drew, Jimmy, Pam and Jessica. Everyone goes out of their way when we have spoken to the staff.I recommend you guys all the time! I am very active in Addict’s Mom and it is nice to be able to direct people to where we have had a good experience!Thank You…

    Sue and Joe R Sr.

LakeHaven Recovery Center offered me everything I needed to grow into the person I was meant to be. They gave me the tools to grow spiritually and mentally. Also, the staff at the facility never gave up on me no matter how many times I screwed up. They pushed me constantly only towards the positive and taught me how to get rid of the negative. Having so many positive people around made it much easier to accept these changes. It came down to a point where I got that moment of clarity and made the conscious decision to stop messing up. Everyone knew it was time for me, it just took a little bit of time for me to accept it. The types of treatment this place offers is on the cutting edge of the mental health field. Everything that is being done here is geared towards change, change for the better. I am so thankful for everything that has been offered to me here. Words Cannot express the type of gratitude that I feel towards every single member of Lake Haven. It’s never too late to change your life, and this is the type of place where it could be accomplished.

Bodily Injury Car Insurance Coverage: How Does It Work?

Bodily Injury Liability (BI or BIL) insurance is one of the two forms of liability car insurance coverage that pay for any damages you caused other drivers. Most states require minimum limits of this coverage to demonstrate your financial responsibility on the road, but consumers can pay more and opt for greater coverage.

    Table of Contents

How Does Bodily Injury Liability Coverage Work?

Bodily Injury Liability insurance pays for for injuries you cause to another driver if you are at-fault in the accident. Bodily injury does not cover the medical costs of injuries you may get in the accident. It is considered a “third-party” insurance, since it only covers other drivers and passengers (you’re the “first-party”).

What Can A Third Party Claim As Bodily Injury?

The types of expenses a third-party can file against your bodily injury liability policy include:

    • Bills for the other party’s hospitalization, follow-up care, and related medical or health care
    • Lost Wages: If the harmed party was seriously injured and unable to work, your bodily injury liability coverage makes up for their lost income. This amount will be based upon the amount of time they are unable to work as a result of the injury, and subject to various limits based on where you live
    • Legal Fees: This is the one item where bodily injury pays for your expenses instead of the third party. Your insurer will usually provide legal defense for you if you are sued by the other party, and that’s paid for under your own bodily injury coverage

How to Understand Bodily Injury Liability Limits

Your bodily injury coverage is stated in a three number format like so “25/50/25”. In the three number format, the first two numbers are the bodily injury coverage limits and the third is for property damage. a separate type of coverage. The first number is the amount covered for one person in the accident, while the second number represents the amount covered in the entire accident. So for example, if you are quoted a 25/50 limit for bodily injury, it means that the insurance policy will cover up to a maximum of $25,000 per person injured in an accident and a total of $50,000 in claims for a single accident. We’ll look at two examples to explain how bodily injury liability would work.

    1. You were deemed at fault for an accident in which two people in the other vehicle were injured. Person A had medical expenses of $30,000 while Person B had medical expenses of $10,000. While the combined medical bills are within the $50,000 limit per accident, your auto insurance policy will only pay Person A $25,000, and Person B $10,000. That’s because Person A’s expenses exceeded the per person limit, leaving you on the hook for the $5,000 of the unpaid claim.
    2. You were at fault for an accident in which two people were injured. Both made medical expense claims of $25,000 each. Because both the individual claims were within the $25,000 and the combined claim was less than or equal to $50,000 the insurance policy would cover these expenses.

Combined Single Limit (CSL) is another – and less common – type of limit consumers may purchase. Compared to the split limit, CSL has one limit that applies to the whole accident, and can pay out to the total coverage amount and is not constrained the number of injured people. The flexibility of CSL limits make this type of limit more costly to insure for, and not every car insurance company provides this option.

Minimum Bodily Injury Liability Requirements by State

Each state has a minimum amount of coverage you are required to have as part of your auto insurance. The most common BIL limit is $25,000, but it changes. Florida doesn’t even require this coverage. State minimums for bodily injury liability are displayed in the following table:

How Much Bodily Injury Liability Coverage Should You Have?

You should get limits that match the amount of assets you have, or the highest limits that you can afford. That’s because if your car insurance isn’t enough to pay for the damages you cause, the other driver may take you to court and sue for the remainder. If the judges rule in their favor, your assets will have to be liquidated to pay for the court damages. If you have limited assets – as in not a lot of money stored in bank accounts, retirement accounts or other funds – it’s likely that the other party will be willing to settle a claim for what the insurance company pays out. You don’t have much risk in a lawsuit when there are less assets to spare. On the other hand if you are wealthy or have savings or investments, your financial risk and exposure in an accident increase. If you pick low limits, more of your assets are exposed when an accident results in hundreds of thousands of damages. Because you’re exposed more, we recommend higher coverage limits – more of the claims brought against your bodily injury protection will be covered directly by your insurer. For more information on our liability limits, refer to our guide here. The next thing to consider is how affordable the car insurance policy will be.

How Much Does Bodily Injury Liability Car Insurance Cost?

Using quotes for a sample 34 year-old married man living in Indiana we can illustrate how price changes with different BI limits. Just remember, car insurance premiums are highly tailored to individual drivers’ profiles, so these numbers are only for reference. We’ll focus on how much it costs our driver to adjust from one limit to the next.

As the table below shows, our sample Indiana driver looking to increase his limits from 25/50 to 250/500 would pay $9 more a month, or $109 more altogether a year, for 10x the protection in Indiana. As drivers increase the amount of liability insurance protection, their premiums will increase at lower rates. For example, going from the state minimum of 25/50 to the next available limit results in a 34% increase in premiums for twice the protection. But once you have medium levels of bodily injury coverage, getting more protection will cost less – our driver would only have to pay 15% more moving from a 50/100 limit to a 100/300 limit. As we say above, opting for the highest limits may be a good idea if you have many assets to protect.

Bodily Injury Liability Limits (per person/per accident)

    Annual BIL Premium

How to File a Bodily Injury Liability Claim

BI claims are considered “Third Party Claims”, which means you are filing a claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance company, or they’ll file against yours if you were at fault. In order to make sure a reasonable amount of your expenses are paid for, you will be required to document and keep record of the accident. Before making a claim. you should be prepared to provide:

    • Records of what happened
    • Photos of the scene and any injuries you sustain
    • Records of medical examinations and any bills from doctors and health care providers
    • Receipts of all related expenses
    • Proof of lost wages: If the injuries you sustain cause you to miss work and potential income, documentation of this from your employer is necessary

    After making a claim:

    • You should hear back within a set time frame, as determined by your state and policy, or get an explanation for any delay
    • Be prepared to discuss the incident. There may be conversations with a liability claim examiner or adjuster who may want clarification in order to assess the sustained injuries as well as the cost of the claim
    • Your right to collect compensation for your claim may have a time limit as well: you may be required to accept a settlement within the required time frame as regulated by state law. You can either accept the offer or file a lawsuit if you do not agree with the settlement
    • Sign the release form only if you are ready: As part of the process the insurance company will ask you to waive all future rights to pursue the person and company for further payments after settlement. You should take into account future medical bills and any expenses that might arise. Ask an attorney to review the settlement and release.

How Much is the Average Bodily Liability Claim Worth?

Unlike property damage liability claims, which average around $3,000 per incident, bodily injury claims tend to be significantly higher. In 2013, the average bodily injury claim was $15,443 as reported by ISO. Bodily injury claims tend to be relatively infrequent however, with only 0.94% of policies experiencing a claim. Based on this data, most bodily injury claims fall within reach of the minimum coverage limits required by the states, with a few exceptions, such as Florida. This should not be used as the sole piece of information in determining your limit, however. There are a wide range of claim amounts that aren’t indicated by these numbers, ranging from the fortunate low ones to catastrophically high claims.

Once you have decided to make a change, start exploring your rehab treatment and recovery options. This is the second step in the alcohol and drug recovery process.

Types of substance abuse treatment include:

    • Inpatient – This type of treatment involves living at the facility where you’re receiving treatment. Inpatient rehab allows you to focus on your recovery without distractions and removes you from environments that may have been contributing to your drug use.
    • Outpatient – This type of treatment often includes regularly scheduled addiction counseling appointments a few times a week. Other types of outpatient treatment include intensive outpatient treatment and partial hospitalization. These treatments involve visiting a treatment center or a hospital for more formal addiction treatment or, when needed, access to medical resources or psychiatric care.
    • Dual diagnosis – These programs use an integrated treatment approach to help people who are struggling both with a substance use disorder and a mental and/or behavioral health issue.

When looking for a treatment facility, keep in mind that there is no treatment that is right for everybody. You will have the most success when you first educate yourself about available treatment types, and then find a treatment program that is tailored to your needs .

Other Considerations for Choosing a Treatment Program

Find a program that can treat other problems you have.

Your treatment program should also address any underlying issues that may be contributing to your substance use-including problems with your friends and family members, your professional life and your mental health.

    Commit to it.

Once you find an addiction treatment program that seems right for you, commit to it! Being committed to the process dramatically increases your chances for success.

    Twelve-Step Drug Abuse Recovery Programs

In exploring your treatment options, you are likely to come across the concept of 12-Step recovery. Many types of recovery program – including outpatient, inpatient and dual diagnosis-use the 12-Step model as an integral part of their treatment approach.

12-Step programs help people who are struggling with addiction. These groups and their steps provide social support to people when they need it. This support can help people stay off drugs or alcohol and make other positive changes in their lives, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

Some of the most popular groups that offer a 12-Step approach to drug abuse recovery include:

    Step 3: Find Support

    Connect With Others in Recovery

Visit the Recovery.org forum to connect with thousands of other people in the recovery process. Share your story, get support and find resources for staying sober.

Finding support is the third step of the recovery process. Regardless of the treatment program that you select, you will need help along the journey. You should talk to your friends and family members about your choice to enroll in a treatment program and ask them to support you.

You might be surprised how quick those around you are to support you-and you should embrace their help, when offered. You should be proud of your decision to change your life. Attempting to recover in hiding or isolation can make things tough-your friends and family can prove to be invaluable recovery resources.

    Connect With Other Sober People

Sadly, in many cases, your friends or even your family members may have been contributing to your addiction-either indirectly (with enabling behavior) or directly (with overt drug use of their own). If you’ve encountered the latter situation, it will also important to build up a network of sober people.

Your sober friends can help you find new social outlets, and they will also understand what you are going through. If necessary, you may even want to consider moving into a therapeutic community, sober house or make other sober living arrangements.

    Step 4: Make Sobriety Last

Getting sober and completing a drug abuse rehabilitation program are among the first major steps in the drug and alcohol recovery process. But once you have completed a program, you will still need to work to maintain your sobriety and avoid a relapse. This is the fourth step.

    Control Triggers and Manage Cravings

A big part of maintaining your sobriety is managing cravings to use alcohol or drugs.

One of the most effective ways to manage your cravings involves making a concerted effort to avoid the people, environments and scenarios that act as triggers for you. Ideally, you should take the following steps to keep your cravings under control and reduce your triggers:

Distance yourself from your old drug or drinking buddies.

Avoid bars and clubs where drug and alcohol use is prominent.

Be honest about your drug abuse history when talking to doctors or other healthcare providers about your health.

Be cautious when accepting prescription drugs from your doctor.

    Participate in an Aftercare Program

Aftercare programs can offer continued support post-rehab and help you stay committed to recovery. These programs can include:

    Regular individual or group counseling.

    Dissolution of Marriage Procedure

We realize that filing a Dissolution of Marriage (Divorce) can be a difficult decision. We are not attorneys being paid by the hour; we charge a flat rate affordable fee. You will speak to a friendly, caring and knowledgeable case manager who will assist you with your needs. As we are not attorneys, if you require legal advice or need to know your rights, we suggest you consult with an attorney prior to starting a case with us.

STEP 1 On your initial visit or scheduled phone conference, you will provide us with the information we need to type your Divorce papers. Our fee will be paid at that time. ($250.00 without children or property) and ($450.00 with a child) and the cost of a mandatory parenting class which can be taken online costing approximately $20.00 each. Next we will schedule a follow-up appointment 5 to 10 days later depending on the complexity of your case.

STEP 2 At the second appointment, you will review the accuracy of the forms and we will make necessary changes. Your signature will then be required and we will notarize your documents free of charge. You may bring your spouse in to sign the papers at the same time or they may make an appointment to sign separately. In the event that your spouse does not agree to sign the papers in our office you do have 3 other options: 1) You can mail the papers to your spouse. They must sign their papers with a notary and return them to you to be filed in the court; or 2) File your papers in the Court first and then have the Clerk of Court forward your papers to the Sheriff to serve the papers on your spouse (additional fee, depending on where your spouse lives); or use a private process server to do the same; or 3) If you have honestly tried all means to locate your spouse and cannot locate them, the court requires a search and a publication in a local newspaper, a consultation with an attorney may be appropriate but is not required.

STEP 3 File your papers DIRECTLY with the Court along with the filing fee of $408.00. You may ask the court if you qualify to have the court costs waived! Please be aware that we will type all forms contained in the divorce packet that you request, however, the court, NOT US, will set your case for a final hearing to dissolve your marriage.

Accurate Noel Services will assist you with all your Florida divorce document needs. We DO NOT give legal advice and CANNOT represent you in court. We are form-preparers, also known as non-lawyers. We CAN only provide you with information and assist with document preparation. It s a great option over pure Do It Yourself (DIY) because if you make a mistake, it can stall your case for many months. If we are unable to help you, we do our best to refer you to an attorney who can process your case.

    WHAT TO DO NOW
Simply call us at (407) 599-0088 now or fill out the form in the upper right of this page to schedule your free consultation to discuss an affordable, fast solution to your divorce situation.

    Estate Recovery FAQ

    What is Medicaid estate recovery?

According to federal and state law, the money that the Florida Medicaid program pays on behalf of a Medicaid recipient is a debt owed back to the state. Upon the death of the Medicaid recipient, the Medicaid program files a claim against the decedent’s estate in order to seek reimbursement for the amount owed.

Does this program affect a person s eligibility for Medicaid or the benefits one might receive?

No. The estate recovery program does not affect any eligibility considerations or the benefits available to a recipient.

    What costs will be recovered?

The debt includes all payments made by Medicaid for services or goods when the recipient was age 55 years or over. Payment of benefits for a person under the age of 55 years does not create a debt.

How will I know how much money is owed the Agency?

Florida Statutes requires that the attorney or personal representative of any estate in which the decedent at the time of death was 55 years of age or older, promptly send a notice and a copy of the death certificate to the Agency for Health Care Administration. This should be mailed to Florida Medicaid Estate Recovery Program, P.O. Box 12188, Tallahassee, FL 32317-2188. Once received, Conduent will determine whether Medicaid provided any medical assistance and, if so, file a claim with the probate court. The claim states the amount owed. The Clerk of Court then forwards a copy of the claim to the estate attorney or personal representative.

What expenses can be paid with the assets of the deceased?

Assets that are not exempt are used to pay the expenses of administration and other obligations of the decedent s estate in the following order. First, there are the expenses of administering the estate such as filing fees and attorney fees. Second, the estate may pay for funeral and burial expenses (not to exceed $6,000). After these are paid, the Medicaid claim must be satisfied before any lower-class creditors or heirs receive any non-exempt assets or money.

    Will Medicaid take the house?

Under Florida probate law, some estate assets may be exempt or protected from creditors who have filed claims against the estate. The probate judge makes the determination about what is exempt. In general, if the Medicaid recipient owned the home as the primary place of residence and it passes to the decedent’s relatives, the judge would likely declare it to be homestead protected from creditors. If so, then Medicaid, or any other creditor, cannot force its sale. If however, any real property is not homestead protected, it may need to be sold to pay Medicaid.

Are there circumstances for which Medicaid would not enforce its claim?

Medicaid will not seek to recover the debt if the Agency receives sufficient verification that the deceased recipient was survived by a spouse, a minor child (under age 21), or a child who has been determined by the Social Security Administration to be blind or permanently and totally disabled.

Would the Agency waive its claim if there is a hardship?

The personal representative of an estate and any heir may request that the Agency considers waiving recovery if it is believed that recovery would create a hardship. A Request for Hardship Waiver form may be obtained by contacting the Florida Medicaid Estate Recovery Program. Upon receipt of the completed form and sufficient supporting documentation, the Agency may grant a waiver of all or part of the debt. The Agency will consider whether the heir would be deprived of food, clothing, shelter, or medical care necessary for the maintenance of life or health. The Agency also considers whether the decedent’s children or siblings provided full-time care which delayed the recipient s entry into a nursing home. A hardship does not exist solely because recovery will prevent any heirs from receiving an anticipated inheritance.

If you’ve ever been arrested and charged with a crime, you know how traumatic and difficult the situation is. The police place you in handcuffs, you lose your freedom, and are questioned by strangers whose sole intent is to prosecute and convict you.

The truth is not their ultimate goal. They want a conviction so they can show everyone how they are tough on crime. In their eyes, you’re just a statistic, a means to an end.

If you’re charged with a crime, you know it’s not a pleasant experience. It’s even worse for those who have a criminal history. No matter the circumstances, if you’re arrested with a criminal history, your chances of receiving justice are slim unless you have a seasoned, tough, and thorough criminal defense attorney. I have more than 24 years of criminal trial experience. I know how to sift through police reports, interview key witnesses, and negotiate with state prosecutors. If your case goes to trial, I am well-versed in presenting a strong case to a jury. I have real world experience dealing with police, prosecutors, judges, and juries.

Don’t leave your defense and your future freedom in just anyone’s hands. Call me, I’m a trial lawyer who’ll represent you to the fullest extent of the law! I believe in due process afforded everyone arrested in this country. I believe in the maxim, “Innocent until proven guilty ”. For me, you’re not a number or a statistic. You are a person who has a family, loved ones, and a right to have your case defended.

    Drug Alcohol Rehab Programs

A Florida rehab center is the ideal location to recover from a substance abuse problem, as the Fort Lauderdale environment offers amazing surroundings where individuals can relax. The rehab process can be taxing and stressful, and the environment plays a role in effective recovery.

Our Florida rehab center at Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center can treat the following addictions:

    • Cocaine addiction
    • Marijuana addiction
    • Alcohol abuse
    • Methamphetamine addiction
    • Ecstasy addiction
    • Tranquilizer abuse
    • Opiate abuse
    • Painkiller addiction
    • Gambling addiction
    • Sex addiction

Outpatient Program options for the above addictions at this rehab center include:

    Residential Style Treatment/PHP (non-res)

Inpatient treatment is the most comprehensive form of recovery program as individuals live on location throughout the duration of their recovery. 24/7 support is offered to all patients both for the physical aspects of drug addiction, and any mental health issues that must be addressed. The greatest benefit of inpatient rehab is that it removes individuals from the negative environment that has encouraged their drug addiction in the past. With drug use or abusive behavior rendered impossible, individuals can get through the most challenging parts of recovery before returning to be members of general society again. Learn more here.

    Intensive Outpatient Treatment (non-res)

Outpatient treatment allows individuals greater flexibility in treatment as they can continue to live at home. This is the ideal solution for those with less severe addictions, or those that just can’t leave their daily lives behind. For some individuals, it is important to continue to attend work, school, and family commitments. While attending an outpatient program at a rehab center, individuals must resist temptation. However, medications can be administered as necessary, and support from fellow addicts and treatment professionals is available. Learn more here.

    Dual Diagnosis Enhanced Treatment

Dual diagnosis treatment addresses addiction accompanied by a severe mental health condition like depression, anxiety, Schizophrenia, and personality disorders. There is a strong connection between addiction and mental health, and dual diagnosis operates on the premise that one of these issues cannot be treated if the other is not, otherwise relapse is imminent. Learn more here.

    Holistic Treatment Opticus

Holistic treatment offered in a Fort Lauderdale rehab uses more natural treatment approaches than traditional rehab. This means that techniques like yoga, meditation, and herbal supplements are favored over the use of medicine.

It is a common misconception that cocaine is not addictive, in fact people can easily become addicted to the effects of cocaine and the lifestyle that goes along with it. This drug can cause major damage to the brain and other health issues including anorexia.

    Heroin

Florida is a common location for smuggling illicit drugs, especially heroin. While heroin is most popular for being injected many will snort it in its purest form as a way of avoiding the stigmas that go along with injecting. Many use heroin as a way to escape from reality and sooth physical and/or mental pain. The user is slowly killing themselves by the physical and mental damage from regular heroin abuse.

    It’s Time for a Change!

Whether you are addicted to alcohol or heroin you are aware of just how overwhelming quitting can be. Florida Addiction Rehabilitation Center can help you to free yourself from the uncontrollable urge to use. We will offer you the support and understanding that you will need to overcome your addiction within our facility that offers a safe, secure and therapeutic environment. I am registering a vehicle for the first time in Florida. Is automobile insurance mandatory?

Yes. If you own a vehicle with at least four wheels and are registering it, you must have Florida insurance.

What type of insurance is required to purchase and maintain a Florida license plate and registration?

Florida’s minimum coverage is $10,000 personal injury protection (PIP) and $10,000 property damage liability (PDL) as long as you have a valid Florida license plate.

What is “Personal Injury Protection” (PIP) insurance?

Also called Florida No Fault Insurance, Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Insurance covers you – regardless of fault (i.e. whether or not you cause the crash) – up to the limits of your policy. Your PIP will also cover your child, members of your household, certain passengers who lack PIP Insurance as long as they do not own a vehicle. People riding in your vehicle who carry PIP will receive coverage under their own PIP for their injuries, and certain licensed drivers who drive your vehicle with your permission. PIP also covers your child if he or she suffers an injury while riding on a school bus. PIP coverage protects you while in someone else’s vehicle, as a pedestrian, or bicyclist if you suffer an injury in a crash involving a motor vehicle. The Florida Motor Vehicle No-Fault Law, requires all owner/registrants of a motor vehicle with four wheels or more to carry a minimum of $10,000 of Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and $10,000 of property damage liability (PDL) if you own a motor vehicle in Florida. Florida law requires you to maintain PIP/PDL insurance continuously throughout the licensing and registration period.

What is ” Bodily Injury Liability” (BIL) insurance?

Bodily Injury Liability coverage pays for serious and permanent injury or death to others when you cause a crash involving your automobile. Your insurance company will pay for injuries up to the limits of your policy and provide legal representation for you if you get sued. In particular, your company pays for injuries caused by you or members of your family who live with you, even if they were driving someone else’s vehicle. It may also cover others who drive your automobile with your permission. This coverage also provides you with legal defense in the event you are sued by the injured party.

What is “Property Damage Liability” (PDL) insurance?

This coverage pays for damages you or members of your family cause (and are liable for) to other people’s property in a crash involving a motor vehicle.

What is meant by “Florida Coverage”?

Florida coverage is an insurance policy delivered or issued for delivery in Florida by an insurance company licensed by the Florida Department of Financial Services.

Can I maintain my current policy issued in my previous state of residence?

No. The minimum required insurance must be issued through a Florida agent with an insurance company licensed to sell in Florida. Most insurers have Florida agents and are licensed to issue policies in Florida. Just ask your agent to transfer your current insurance to Florida when you register a vehicle in Florida.

What if I fail to keep insurance on my vehicle that I have registered in Florida?

The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is authorized to suspend your driving privilege, including your vehicle license plate and registration, for up to three years or until proof of Florida insurance is provided, whichever is first.

If my driving privilege is suspended because I am not properly insured, is there a penalty to reinstate my license?

Yes. A reinstatement fee of $150 up to $500, for subsequent violations, must be paid and you must provide proof of current Florida insurance.

I live outside Florida for six months a year. When not in Florida, my vehicle is in storage and not used. Must I maintain automobile insurance?

Yes. Any vehicle holding a valid Florida license plate and registration must be covered by a Florida insurance policy throughout the entire registration period. When you leave Florida, you may surrender your license plate and registration at the nearest driver license or Tax Collector office to avoid maintaining your policy. You can always register your vehicle upon your return to Florida, at which time you can provide proof of Florida insurance.

I am not a resident of Florida but I have business that keeps me in Florida sometimes for several months at a time. Must I comply with Florida’s insurance laws?

Yes. Any person who has a vehicle in Florida for more than 90 days during a 365-day period must purchase personal injury protection and property damage liability insurance coverage. The 90 days do not have to be consecutive.

I own multiple vehicles. Some are not used for different reasons, but the county I live in requires that the vehicles remain registered. Must I maintain insurance coverage on these vehicles?

Yes, as long as you have a valid Florida tag, then you must maintain continuous Florida insurance on the vehicle. It does not matter if the vehicle is being driven, but because there is a valid registration for the vehicle, it must be insured.

What can I do to avoid a driving privilege suspension when I choose not to insure a vehicle?

To avoid a driving privilege suspension, surrender the vehicle’s license plate and registration at any Florida driver license or Tax Collector office, prior to canceling your insurance policy.

If my driving privilege is suspended for no insurance, will I be granted a temporary driver license for Business or Employment purposes?

No. There is no provision in Florida’s motor vehicle insurance laws for the issuance of any sort of temporary or restricted driver license for financial responsibility suspensions.

I am self-employed as a taxi driver and the only vehicle I own is registered as a taxicab. Must I carry automobile insurance?

Yes. You must carry Bodily Injury Liability (BIL) coverage of $125,000 per person, $250,000 per occurrence and $50,000 for property damage liability (PDL) coverage.

I am moving out of state and will not be registered in Florida any more. Can I cancel my insurance?

Do not cancel your insurance until you have registered in the other state. Florida insurance is required as long as you are registered in Florida, regardless of whether you drive in Florida. Once you are registered in the other state, you can cancel Florida insurance and comply with the insurance requirements of the state you have moved to. If you are retaining the same carrier, they can switch you simultaneously with registration change.

Real Estate Taxes- Delinquent Taxes – Office of the Tax Collector –

    Delinquent Taxes

    Real Estate Taxes

Real estate taxes become delinquent April 1st of each year. Delinquent taxes must be paid by cash, cashier’s check or money order. The amount due is determined by the the date the payment is received.

Florida Statutes require the Tax Collector to advertise the delinquent parcels in a local newspaper once a week for three consecutive weeks. The advertised list of unpaid taxes is published in a local newspaper at the beginning of May, and can also be found online at bidlaketax.com. Advertising and collection fees are added to the delinquent taxpayer’s bill.

Beginning on or before June 1st, the Tax Collector is required by law to hold a Tax Certificate Sale. The certificates represent liens on all unpaid real estate properties. The sale allows citizens to buy certificates by paying off the tax debt that is owed. The sale is conducted in reverse auction style with participants bidding downward in ¼% increments starting at 18%. The certificate is awarded to the lowest bidder.

A tax certificate, when purchased, becomes an enforceable first lien against the real estate. The certificate holder is actually paying the taxes for a property owner in exchange for a competitive bid rate of return on his/her investment. In order to remove the lien, the property owner must pay the Tax Collector all delinquent taxes plus accrued interest, penalties and advertising fees. The Tax Collector then notifies the certificate holder of any certificates redeemed, and a refund check is issued to the certificate holder.

A tax certificate is valid for seven years from the date of issuance. The holder may apply for a tax deed at any time after two years have elapsed since April 1st of the year of issuance of the tax certificate and before the cancellation of the certificate. If the property owner fails to pay the tax debt, the property tax deed is sold at public auction.

    Tangible Personal Property Tax

Tangible Personal Property Taxes become delinquent April 1st of each year at which time a 1.5% fee per month is added to the bill. Within 45 days after the tangible personal property taxes become delinquent, the Tax Collector is required by law to advertise a list of delinquent taxpayers one time in a local newspaper. Advertising costs are added to the delinquent bill.

Pursuant to Florida Statutes. Tax Warrants are issued prior to April 30th of the next year on all unpaid tangible personal property taxes. Within 30 days after the warrants are prepared, the Tax Collector applies to the Circuit Court for an order directing levy and seizure of the property for the amount of unpaid taxes and costs.

Any changes to the tax roll (name, address, location, assessed value) must be processed through the Property Appraiser s Office. (352) 253-2150.

Who Has the Cheapest Homeowners Insurance Quotes in Florida?

Find the Cheapest Insurance Quotes in Your Area

ValuePenguin’s analysts recently took a look at homeowners insurance rates in the most expensive state in the US, Florida. Florida’s homeowners insurance rates are notoriously high because of the sheer amount of coastal real estate and the fact that it’s hit by more hurricanes and tropical storms than any other state. Florida also isn’t any stranger to tornadoes. In our study we aimed to determine which counties in FL had the most expensive (and most affordable) homeowners insurance rates. The state average according to our research was $1,952 per year. Additionally, if you’re interested in figuring out which companies offer the best home insurance rates in your area of Florida you can search for rates using our quote tool.

Cheapest Homeowners Insurance Companies in Florida

We looked at five of the top homeowners insurance companies by market size throughout the state of Florida. Those companies are Citizens Property, State Farm Florida, Universal Property, St. John’s Insurance, and Safeway Insurance. In the chart below you’ll see each of the five companies along with their annual average insurance premium for both a $150,000 and $300,000 home.

Find the Cheapest Homeowners Insurance Quotes in Your Area

Best Homeowners Insurance Rates in Florida: by County

What do the five cheapest FL counties for homeowners insurance have in common? They’re all in the northern half of the state. Historically, these five areas have seen just a fraction of the high wind damage caused by hurricanes, tropical storms, and tornadoes that ravage other parts of the state. Four of the five counties sit within about a 50 mile radius of Jacksonville on Florida’s northeast coast while the other (Leon) is located 15 miles inland on the Florida Panhandle.

    Leon County

At the center of Leon County is the home of the Florida State University Seminoles, Tallahassee. The county itself is home to almost 300,000 residents and fortunately for all of them, their homeowner’s insurance costs are the lowest in Florida! At $1,120 per year, Leon County is 50% cheaper than the state average.

    Duval County

The largest county on our Top 5 cheapest list, Duval and its county seat Jacksonville have the 2nd most affordable homeowners insurance premiums in The Sunshine State at $1,227 per year or just over $100 per month.

    Clay County

Bordered by 2nd place finisher Duval County to the north, Clay County has the 3rd cheapest homeowners insurance in the state. The majority of the residents in Clay County reside in both Middleburg or Orange Park. The 190,000+ citizens of the county pay $1,349 per year to insure their home, or 40% less than the FL average.

    Alachua County

Home to Gainesville, FL and the University of Florida Gators, Alachua sits 75 miles SW of Jacksonville almost equidistant between the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts. Homeowners insurance rates in Alachua are some of the cheapest in the state at an average of $1,376 annually.

    Putnam County

Just east of Gainesville you’ll find Putnam County. Home to almost 75,000 Floridians, Putnam’s largest city Palatka sits on the banks of the St. John’s River and only 20 miles or so from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Homeowners insurance premiums in Putnam County average an affordable $1,392 per year.

Most Expensive Counties in Florida for Homeowners Insurance

When looking at the five most expensive counties in Florida for homeowners insurance two things jumped out, and not surprisingly so. First, unlike our cheapest counties, the 5 most expensive parts of the state all had a significant amount of ocean front exposure leaving themselves more susceptible to high winds from hurricanes and tropical storms. Second, all five counties were located towards the southern half of the state.

    Monroe County

Having experienced more hurricane strikes over the last 110 years than any county in Florida, it comes as no surprise that Monroe County and its Florida Keys have the most expensive homeowners insurance rates in the state by a mile. At $5,543 annually, rates in areas like Key West are 28% higher than the next most expensive county and almost 150% higher than the state average.

    Miami-Dade County

The spot of the 2nd most hurricane landings since 1900, the cities of Miami-Dade, while not as expensive as Monroe County, are incredibly pricey. At $4,343 per year or $362 per month, homeowns insurance premiums in the county are 3x as much as Florida’s cheapest cities.

    Martin County

Martin County on the Atlantic Coast ranks as our 3rd most expensive area of Florida at $4,136 per year. Popular towns in Martin County include Stuart and Jupiter Island. The 146,318 citizens of the county pay 84% higher premiums than the average Florida city.

    Collier County

Home to Naples, FL, Collier County borders to the north of our 1st place finsher, Monroe County. With annual homeowners insurance premiums of $3,804, Collier County is $332 cheaper than 3rd place Martin County but still 70% more than the Florida state average.

    Indian River County

Rounding out our Top 5 Most Expensive FL Counties for Homeowners Insurance, Indian River County is our northernmost finalist. Best known for its popular beach destination, Vero Beach, county residents can expect to shell out just north of $3,700 annually, or $308 each month.

Average Cost of Homeowners Insurance in Florida: by County

If you’re interested in other FL counties beyond just the top and bottom 5, we’ve gone ahead and included all 67 counties in our table below. They are listed from cheapest (Leon County) to most expensive (Monroe County). The dollar amounts represent the average annual amount paid for homeowners insurance in the area.

    Study Methodology

The quotes we compiled were for two different house types and the rates were averaged to give us our final number. The first house was a masonry home valued at $150,000, built in 1990 with a $500 non-hurricane deductible and a 2% hurricane deductible. The house has maximum wind mitigation features. Our second home was also a masonry house. This residence was built in 2005 and is valued at $300,000. It has a $500 non-hurricane deductible, a 2% hurricane deductible and limited wind mitigation features on the home.

Insurance rates were analyzed for 4 different insurance companies: Safeway Property Insurance Company, Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, State Farm Florida Insurance Company, Universal Property Casualty Insurance Company, and St. John’s Insurance Company. The latter four companies on that list are the top home insurers in the state of Florida.

Surveyed homeowners insurance costs in Florida are for illustrative purposes only and actual quotes will vary based on your physical residence, claims history, and other factors.

Every driver registering a car in Florida is required to maintain, at a minimum, an insurance policy which includes PIP
(Personal Injury Protection). The coverage pays benefits after an accident, regardless of fault, to the policyholder
and household residents for their bodily injuries. There are several PIP options to choose from which can save
The required limits for each individual is $10,00 and is paid out for 80% of medical related costs, 60% for missed
work, and $5,000 in case of a fatality. The named insured or policyholder is allowed to elect a deductible of 250, 500,
or 1,000 dollars. In addition, the option for lost wages (missed work) can either be included or left off. On top of this,
the deductible and missed work selections can be applied to the policyholder only or to all the household residents.
Anytime coverage is left out or reduced the rate quote is lower .

An excellent additional coverage to consider on your Florida car insurance policy is Bodily Injury Liability (BI). This
coverage pays after an at fault accident for another persons injuries and not to the policyholder or their household
residents. Some companies will not sell a policy with PIP unless there is also BI. Most companies will place a risk or
applicant into a better tier with lower rates when BI is included. Sometimes adding coverage can actually lower the
    overall cost of a policy.

Most insurance agents do not go over all the available choices when it comes to PIP when a potential applicant is
receiving a quote. Knowing about these options is important when considering your car insurance. Keep in mind that
reducing coverage does not always mean lower rates and it can leave you unprotected.

    PIP Questions With Answers

    What is PIP ?
PIP is the common abbreviation for Personal Injury Protection. PIP is for benefits payable under the Florida auto
insurance policy which is mandated by the Florida Motor Vehicle No Fault Auto Insurance law .

What is the name of the Florida law that requires PIP ?
Florida Motor Vehicle No Fault Law is the name of the Florida statute that requires PIP coverage on all vehicles
registered in the state of Florida.

Who is insured by PIP ?
The named insured and all resident relatives are covered under the PIP coverage of your policy. Resident relatives
are not required to be listed drivers on the policy for coverage to apply.

Which vehicles are covered by PIP ?
All cars owned by you and listed on your policy is covered by the PIP portion. Also, any trailer designed for use with a
private passenger vehicle and not used for business is considered a covered vehicle.

    What does PIP cover ?
Personal Injury Protection benefits include: Medical benefits, disability benefits, and death benefits.

What is the amounts payable when PIP coverage applies ?
The amount of death benefit payable for an insured person is $5,000.
Medical benefits are payable at 80% of the amount incurred due to a covered injury. Disability benefits are payable
at 60% of any lost wages incurred due to a covered injury. The total amount payable under PIP for any one accident
    is $10,000.

Is there a deductible under PIP coverage ?
Florida Motor Vehicle Law allows a deductible of no more than $1,000 for PIP coverage. Choosing a deductible is
optional and will lower the premium if you elect one. Also, work loss exclusion is allowed under the law and if elected
your premium will be lower and you will not receive any benefit from lost wages due to a covered injury.

Is PIP an optional coverage ?
PIP is not optional coverage for any vehicle registered in the state of Florida as mandated by the Law. Bodily Injury
Liability is not optional when a Florida FR 44 insurance or Florida SR 22 insurance is required.

Does someone else have to be at fault to collect payments under PIP ?
No. Regardless of fault PIP coverage from your insurance policy provides benefits for a covered injury.

Do all insurance policies have PIP coverage ?
Not all states require automobile insurance policies to have PIP coverage. All registered vehicles in Florida are
    required to carry PIP coverage.

When does coverage under PIP apply ?
Coverage applies when the named insured or any resident relative is injured while occupying a motor vehicle. Also,
coverage applies if an insured person is stuck by a motor vehicle as a pedestrian.

Do PIP benefits increase by the number of cars on my policy ?
No. A premium is collected by your insurance company for each motor vehicle listed on the policy; however, this does
    not increase benefits.

If I have health insurance to cover my injuries does PIP still apply ?
If an insured person sustains injury due to a covered event benefits are payable under PIP regardless of any health
    insurance the injured person carries.

Are an attorney and a law suit required to collect payments under PIP ?
No. All top rated standard insurance companies will pay the PIP benefits to a covered person with out the need of an
    attorney or law suit.

What happens if I cancel my PIP policy and have a registered vehicle ?
Your insurance company will notify the Florida Motor Vehicle Department of the cancelled policy. A notice will be sent
to the registered vehicle owner inquiring about the status of any new policy which may have been purchased. Failure
to respond to the notice or maintain required PIP coverage will result in the registered vehicle owner’s driver’s license
being suspended. Florida SR-22 insurance may be required for license reinstatement .

I live in Florida part time of the year do I still require PIP coverage ?
Any vehicle registered in the state of Florida is required to carry PIP coverage even if that vehicle is not in use or is
in another state part of the year.

Am I covered by my PIP if I’m driving outside the state of Florida ?
A Florida resident who is covered under the PIP portion of a policy is covered while driving that vehicle outside the
    state of Florida.

What is extended or additional Personal Injury Protection Coverage ?
This is optional coverage not mandated by law which is offered by some companies. For an additional premium your
insurance company may increase the total amount payable under PIP over the $10,000 mandated. Your company
may also increase the percentages payable under the medical and disability portion of the PIP benefits. Typically the
increase for medical would be from the 80% required to 100% and the disability benefit from the required 60% of lost
    wages to 80%.

What happens if PIP coverage applies from more than one policy ?
If there is other applicable Personal Injury Protection for the same injury the most that is collected is the maximum
$10,000 amount required by law. Each company’s policy will be responsible for their pro-rata share of benefits
    payable.

Does the insurance company decide which doctor or hospital I use ?
No. Any doctor or hospital will be paid under the PIP benefit for medically necessary treatment due to a covered
    injury.

What exactly does resident relative mean ?
Any relative by any degree of blood or marriage and usually resides at the home of the named insured. This includes
a resident relative residing temporarily somewhere else, such as a student away at college.

What is excluded from benefits being paid under PIP ?
If you own a car that is not insured under your auto insurance policy and are injured in that vehicle benefits will not
apply. Any injury sustained by a person operating a covered auto without your express or implied permission. Any
intentional bodily injury will not be covered. Any injury sustained in the commission of a felony will not be covered.
A person other than you or a resident relative and has coverage under another Florida auto policy which has PIP
    benefits .

It was a hot day, but we were under the tree canopy and there was a slight breeze. All employees were helpful. Fool proof safety method with the dual clips. Girls and parents in our group had a lot of fun for our 3 hour time block. You have do progress through the levels of yellow, green, blue, black, and double black diamond – you can’t start on a black. This is a good thing – I found the yellow challenging and fun and nearly made it all the way on the blue. Only 2 of our troop made it to where they completed a black. Great mental and physical challenges. Plenty of paths to watch and follow from below. Tables under tents provided for groups. Unlimited water bottles available for $5 – if it’s hot, you will drink about 4 bottles in 3 hours because you are working hard on those ropes! Tip: bring a cooler with food and drink for your group.

I love a challenge but one I can do at my own pace. The courses test your strength, balance and concentration. I am 64 years young and couldn’t wait to find friends interested in exploring this new activity. The staff were very helpful and available whenever I needed them. I did see a 5 year old on one of the yellow courses with his dad. He smiled at us several times but kept his focus.
I had to leave after completing a blue course because of a previous commitment but I liked everything about this park so I called and signed up for the annual membership.
The price is expensive by my standards if you are a family of three or more. I knew I wanted to return often so the membership cuts my cost by half if I go monthly. Plus there are other advantages to a membership.
You can bring your own drinks (no alcohol) and food. I went on a Tuesday morning and the park was not crowded.
I recommend completing the waiver online before visiting the park. There are only 2 computers and they are not user friendly.
BTW: I am sore this morning but a good sore.

We went there for my husbands birthday. A little crowded when we arrived but the once it started to clear out we were able to go through the courses at our own pace. I would recommend wearing something that covers your arms as that’s wear the guide wires hit. It was very fun and we will be back.

Jon P, Manager at TreeHoppers, responded to this review

We can’t wait to have you back!

Course is set up for all ages.

    Geralyn k (9 reviews)

Course is laid out well. Easy to very challenging. I would suggest find a more efficient person to run the front desk. Check in took a very long time and we did the waivers online. She continued to tell us to drink water, got side tracked very easily, could not multi task without stopping and talking. It was hot and we wanted to get on to the course. We drove a long way and wanted to get home at a decent time. Drug test workers please. Need someone on the practice platforms we struggled with that and it took at long time to remember how to do it as we we only shown we were able to demonstrate.

Alcohol Addiction Withdrawal Symptoms, Detox – Treatment #alcohol #detox #florida

    Alcohol Addiction Withdrawal

Alcohol is believed to cause its effects on the brain and body by enhancing activity of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA. With chronic alcohol use, the central nervous system adjusts to the drug’s presence, and GABA receptors become less responsive to alcohol. The user needs higher amounts to achieve the same effect (this phenomenon is known as tolerance ). 1

When a person who is dependent on alcohol cuts back or quits drinking completely, the central nervous system rebounds and goes into a hyper-aroused state, which leads to withdrawal symptoms. 1

Because some aspects of withdrawal can be dangerous, especially for severe alcoholics, medical intervention may be necessary. A combination of treatment methods is essential in safeguarding against relapse.

If you’re serious about getting help, please call 1-888-935-1318 tofind out more about centers to safely manage alcohol withdrawal.

    Withdrawal Symptoms

Withdrawal symptoms include tremors, insomnia, nausea, and sweating.

The more a person drinks, the greater the odds that he or she will suffer alcohol withdrawal symptoms.

People who drink daily and consume large amounts (more than 8 drinks a day) for multiple days are at a high risk for withdrawal. People who drink regularly and have co-occurring medical conditions, family members with alcoholism, have gone through withdrawal before, and use alcohol with other sedative drugs are also at risk. 3

The most common alcohol withdrawal symptoms include:

    Delirium Tremens

The most profound type of alcohol withdrawal is called delirium tremens (DTs), which can result in:

    • Hallucinations.
    • Severe mental confusion.
    • Fever.
    • Increased heart rate. 2

    Seizures

Seizures are a major risk with alcohol withdrawal. They can occur with or without symptoms of DTs.

Seizures are most common within the first 12 to 48 hours after the last drink and are more likely to occur in people who have had complications from alcohol withdrawal in the past. 4

    Help for Alcohol Withdrawal
Want to quit drinking? Call 1-888-935-1318 .
Get connected with a rehab facility in your area.

Alcohol Withdrawal Treatment Methods and Options for Help

The safest method for alcohol withdrawal is to detox under the care of medical professionals. A physician or other healthcare provider can treat any mental or psychological symptoms and prescribe any necessary medications. They can minimize the risk of serious complications, such as seizure, and otherwise make the process as comfortable as possible.

Supervision and support can be provided in a professional detoxification program staffed by doctors, nurses, and addiction counselors. Many recovering alcoholics benefit from such close medical attention and experience better outcomes following the initial treatment.

Common alcohol withdrawal treatment options include:

    • Detox centers.
    • Inpatient rehabilitation centers.
    • Hospitals.
    • Outpatient rehab programs.

    Addiction Treatment, Rehab, and Recovery

Detox is the only the first step of recovering from alcoholism. Recovery requires a serious commitment and the desire to address the root of the problem. Many inpatient and outpatient options are available for alcohol recovery.

Denial is a common component of the alcoholic mindset. Acknowledgement of a problem and seeking help is an enormous step in the right direction.

Some forms of alcohol addiction treatment include the following:

    • Group and individual therapy sessions often help recovering alcoholics realize the reasons behind their drinking and work through personal or family problems that contributed to their substance abuse.
    • 12-step support groups, such as Alcoholics Anonymous. have proven invaluable in the lives of many recovering alcoholics.
    • Cognitive behavioral therapy can help users gain insight into thinking patterns that lead them to drink and help them learn to change these patterns.

It’s never too late to get sober. By calling 1-888-935-1318 today, you’re taking that critical first step.

    Testimonials

I strongly recommend the Florida Insurance Group. I’ve been a satisfied client of theirs for the past 14 years. Recently my policy significantly increased and they took the time to re-shop it and found another good company (they represent a lot of different ones) and saved me over $900! Maggie was great!

This is the accommodation for Ellizabeth Sito. I had a terrible time at first dealing with my Fort Lauderdale Homeowners Company. I had a new roof put on my house that I Paid for and got a Wind Mitigation in Sept. 2014 and sent it to them. On April 30th, 2015,I received my bill for the year and I called them as my bill went “Sky High”. It was then that she told the Wind Mitigation was incorrect and I would have to get a new one done with pictures etc. It was then that I got in contact with Elizabeth with Nationwide Insurance in Orlando and she never hesitated to help me. She dealt with the Insurance Company in Fort Lauderdale and the roofer that did the Wind Mitigation. It took about a month from start to finish and she kept me informed as to what transpired and was patient with me, She did a “Super Job” in getting this all resolved, even on the payment to get it in on time. Great Job Elizabeth! You are the “Best”.

After I noticed my homeowners insurance starting to rise, I decided to make a change. During my conversation with Ziggy; he was very pleasant and knowledgeable concerning my needs. The process was handled quickly. Thank you for your help and the great customer service!

After our previous auto insurance rates continued to creep up, we decided to ask Ron at Florida Insurance Group for help. They saved us nearly $1100 a Year, and got us our new policy quickly and with wonderful customer service, too!

    – Mark & Daniella Sunderland

A few unfortunate events happened with two of my small business drivers over the course of two months. My commercial auto insurance company decided my company was too much of a risk. FloridaInsurance.com helped me find insurance for my four trucks that I could actually afford. Thanks Florida Insurance Group! When my other insurance policies start going up in price, I’ll be sure to give you a call!

    – Selena / Kissimmee, FL
