Master in Management – Grande Ecole

Business forum

The Grande École curriculum is divided into a generalist phase and a specialization phase. The first phase concentrates on business fundamentals, while the second one focuses on acquiring an expertise (chosen according to the professional goals of the student). The unique structure of the curriculum enables students to acquire both an excellent grounding in general management and expertise in a specific field. We firmly believe this combination is the key success factor in training future leaders and making a lasting impact on the careers of our students. The second year of the Master’s program Cycle is composed of a specialized and professional curriculum, and the composition of a research paper.

Specialized Masters / MSc

Business forum

Specialized Masters are one-year Master’s degrees taught in French. They are designed for students who already hold a Master’s degree in an other field and wish to specialize in a specific field of management. MSc programs are one-year Master’s degrees taught in English. They are designed for students who hold a Bachelor degree in any field from leading international universities.

Business forum

Custom designed for managers between the ages of 25 to 35 with previous work experience averaging 6 years, the MBA program addresses both functional and crossfunctional skills, through a fundamental and a customized thread to cover all areas of management in depth. Highly selective, the program has around 250 participants per year, from 52 different nationalities with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Participants gain hands-on, practical experience through seminars integrated into the curriculum, such as the MBA Tournament and the off-campus leadership seminar at St-Cyr Military Academy.

Executive MBA

Business forum

The Executive MBA is a transformational experience which offers senior managers and executives from all around the world the opportunity to select one of the 8 majors that take place in 14 international locations, and also to take classes in any of its different tracks in France or Qatar.

Case Study: The World Business Forum (WBF)

Being held for the first time in Australia in May 2014, the World Business Forum offered business leaders the opportunity to hear influential minds and legendary CEOs discuss global issues and trends.

The Star Event Centre was selected to be the venue for the inaugural Australian conference, hosting the largest collection of senior executives for an event of its type. The impressive lineup of speakers included the former Director of Marketing of Facebook, Randi Zuckerberg, The Hon. John Howard and Professor Michael Porter of the Harvard Business School.

The Event Centre was at full capacity, set theatre style for the 1,750 attendees plus all four suites on level 5 were in action for VIPs and corporate sponsors. Breakout spaces in the foyer of the Event Centre and on Sky Terrace featured eight sponsor stands of varying sizes and food stations showcasing Australia’s freshest cuisine like QLD Spanner Crab meat and avocado brioche.

Speakers, VIPs and sponsors enjoyed a three course lunch in The Attic in the Event Centre, and at Bistro 80, whilst other guests ventured throughout the property to dine and hold meetings at signature restaurants including Balla. BLACK by ezard and Sokyo and in The Star’s own food court.

Volunteers from a hotel management school were recruited to direct guests internally and externally to the property assisting with traffic flow.

Aware that time is an executive’s most precious commodity, The Star meticulously planned the two-day event for all guests, from the speedy registration process onsite and clear signage, to the prompt catering at all tea breaks and flawless VIP management; a seamless and memorable experience was had by all.

In addition, custom menus were implemented across the property ensuring World Business Forum attendees’ lunch breaks were well timed and afternoon sessions could get underway on schedule.

Impressing all guests, Sydney put on an absolutely stunning couple of days of weather which allowed guests to utilise Sky Terrace for all morning and afternoon tea breaks, avoiding the need for well-established wet weather plans.

The 2014 conference offered accommodation across The Star’s two hotels to delegates. Responding to attendees’ desire to stay on site, for the 2015 conference, The Star has partnered with their client offering a discount code for accommodation at both The Darling and Astral Towers and Residences.

The 2014 World Business Forum was a major success, and has chosen to hold the 2015 conference at the same venue The Star for the second consecutive year, 27 – 28 May 2015.

The 2015 conference was another outstanding event that featured a stellar line up of speakers including Lynda Gratton, Professor at the London Business School, Steve Wozniak, the pioneer who co-founded Apple and Ben Bernanke, two-term Chairman of the Federal Reserve System.

The launch of the World Business Forum Sydney last year was a huge success with 2173 senior-level executives in attendance Australia s largest business management event.

The Star were instrumental in the planning and delivery of the Forum to ensure we exceeded expectations for both executives and sponsors. This was definitely achieved, as 100% of all executives surveyed mentioned that they would return again.

We look forward to working with the team at The Star again on the World Business Forum Sydney 2015 which will be held on 27th 28th May.

Providing Solutions and Resources for Sustainable Development by 2030

On the occasion of the first High Level Political Forum (HLPF) since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the inaugural SDG Business Forum coincides with its high-level ministerial segment. The 2030 Agenda recognizes the critical role of business in delivering on the promise of sustainable and inclusive development. The business case for sustainable development is based on the understanding that business and social values are inextricably linked and business efforts to improve lives and strengthen local communities can also have long term bottom line benefits. The private sector has been invited to share its support for the Agenda during the HLPF at the SDG Business Forum.

Co-hosted by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA), and the UN Global Compact in collaboration with the Global Business Alliance (GBA) for 2030, the SDG Business Forum will convene leaders from business and government, together with the heads of UN agencies, key international organizations, and civil society groups to delve into the role business will play in delivering the 2030 Agenda. The Forum will report on significant achievements and commitments undertaken by business during this pivotal first year of SDG implementation and explore the capacity of business to catalyze sustainable growth and development from innovative approaches to financing to the business case for sustainability and new, transformational partnerships.

MAKING IT EASIER FOR YOU

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING

We enlisted help from NPR Report Writing.com because we had difficulty getting more complex reports addressed through our normal NPR channels. The staff was very helpful in working with us to design a report that met a gap in the standard functionality of the OR module for our single-facility, multiple site configuration. Their knowledge of Meditech data structure was impressive, and they worked with us diligently to determine our needs and help us to find a good technical solution. The statistical report they wrote will save hours of manual counting and tabulating. Considering that our in-house NPR skills are limited, we will look to NPR Report Writing.com in for help in meeting our custom reporting needs.

Stephanie Alford, Peterson Regional Healthcare

We are a Critical Access Hospital and, unlike larger hospitals, we face the issue of limited financial and personnel resources needed to implement and maintain our facility’s healthcare IT solutions. We are currently in the process of implementing Meditech C/S and we frequently have a need for NPR Report Writing.com services. We began working with NPR Report Writing.com after other users of Meditech responded with rave reviews of their experience with NPR Report Writing.com services. Because of their Meditech experience, the staff has excellent input and recommendations when we aren’t sure on some of the details related to our report needs. Even after a report is complete, if a minor change needs to be made later, the staff is always willing to make these changes. They have successfully built a solid reputation for integrity, timeliness, and consistent quality with us here at the Atchison Hospital and they truly understands the financial resource challenges of a Critical Access Hospital.

Melody Filley, Atchison Hospital

The team at NPR Report Writing.com are fantastic. We were faced with a short deadline to have a complicated proration rule ready for CMS payment changes. I contacted several vendors I knew and advertised for others on the Meditech L. Many initially raised their hands but I never heard back from them after sending the specifications. NPR Report Writing.com accepted the challenge and delivered a working rule on time and on budget. It worked as expected “right out of the box” with no redesign needed. I highly recommend NPR Report Writing.com for your Meditech NPR needs.

Not everyone needs to have a fully dedicated web server however. If you’re just getting started with your website, you can save quite a bit of money if you get a free small portion of the server. Shared hosting is when you share a portion of the server with other users rather than rent an entire server to yourself. What is the difference between a lesion and a tumor #colon #cancer,

Jimswife wrote: Sounds to me like they have maybe found a solid Tumor in the bowel then smaller bits dotted in the liver / lungs. Does it sound like that to you ?

That’s exactly what it seemed like to me as I read your first post.

Have they not done a colonoscopy relative to whatever was seen in the CT scan in the bowel?
Or maybe the plan is chemo for reduction, then scope-and-remove?

Try to find out what chemo regimen they are proposing; ‘at home’ sounds like Xeloda pills (5-FU) which sounds right for an initial reduction treatment.
Avastin (clinical IV) would be appropriate for the mets to lung and liver, BUT would require a 28-day cessation before attempting any surgery.

Try to do some ‘Dr. Google’ references from reputable sites (American Cancer Societ, Colon Cancer Alliance, National Institutes of Health) for reference, so that you’re giving information, not you/our ‘amateur medical opnions’.

Best of luck to your folks’ friend; this is Stage 4 and he’s in for a long ride.

Thanks rix n gwen. yes I thought it sounded like a stage 4 that had travelled from the bowel but obviously I’m no doctor and he’s just asked my mum to ask us if we know. suppose early on its all waiting in test results etc so he’s probably a bit in limbo and not really sure what’s going on. he’s been losing a lot of weight though mum said. apparently there doing some kind of keyhole surgery to biopsy some of the bowel. Not sure why there not doing a colonoscopy. Maybe they don’t need to know if it’s already been more or less confirmed by ct.

All scans and bloods since surgery confirm no evidence of disease
Hoping to stay ned forever. Fingers crossed.

Lesion, tumor, mass–I think they’re all the same thing, although mass probably refers to what they find before they confirm that it’s a tumor. I think some doctors like to say lesion better than tumor. It has a less ominous sound. But they’re not fooling anyone. They all refer to something growing where it shouldn’t be.

Jimswife wrote: Anyway his question is what’s the difference between a Tumor and a lesion.

Specifically to answer your/his question, just from a general online medical dictionary :
Lesion. an abnormal change in structure of an organ or part due to injury or disease ; especially. one that is circumscribed and well defined.
Tumor (tumour). an abnormal benign or malignant new growth of tissue that possesses no physiological function and arises from uncontrolled usually rapid cellular proliferation.

Tumors are lesions. Not all lesions are tumors, so the lab work, imaging, biopsy etc. will tell if it is Stage IV or not, in the friend’s case.

I agree the language may be purposely softened or vague. cancer is more of a loaded term than lesion or mass for most people. We just get too suspicious ourselves, here, having been through all this stuff. Remember though, at this point with no biopsy they are still suspecting the possibility of Stage IV CRC, based on presentation and their experience. The real diagnosis is still to come.

Hope it is NOT another CClubber in the making.

University Business Forum

It was a great honor and pleasure for us to welcome you to the University Business Forum to Vienna on February 25-26, 2016 !

The event was a joint effort of the European Commission, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy.

This two-day forum brought together a diverse range of representatives from business, public authorities and universities. Around 520 participants from all over Europe jointly developed ideas and formed creative collaborations.

During the upcoming Forum opinion leaders shared with us latest developments and recent innovations.

You had been inspired by high-profile speakers as:

  • Tibor Navracsics, Member of the European Commission in charge of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport
  • Harald Mahrer, State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy
  • Christoph Leitl, President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber
  • Alexa Wesner, US Ambassador to Austria
  • Jörg Dräger, Executive Director of the Centre for Higher Education and Board member of the Bertelsmann foundation
  • Paul Rübig, Member of the European Parliament
  • Werner Wutscher, Founder and CEO of New Venture Scouting, Austria

You had been activated by lively exchange at interactive breakout sessions, informal networking slots and debates about:

  • How can cooperation between business and universities be structured to best drive innovation? How can we scale up models such as “dual studies”?
  • How can an entrepreneurial mind-set among students, teachers and researchers be encouraged? How can science, business and policy support start-up creation?
  • How can a university operate in an entrepreneurial way? What is the role for universities when it comes to lifelong learning, knowledge exchange and regional growth?

Download pictures, power point presentations, the report and the conference programme.

We relyed on the most meaningful participation of many colleagues from all over Europe in order to make our forum a milestone in University-Business-Congress history. The Forum took place in Vienna, one of the most beautiful cities not only in Europe but in the entire world.
